Panerai Luminor Geneva Boutique Special Edition
As the world seems more on track to fully open up and return to in-person engagements, some retailers are busy wondering how to enhance the experience. Among those is the Swiss-Italian watch brand Officine Panerai that recently inaugurated their latest Flagship concept boutique, named “Modularità Espressiva”. To further celebrate opening this innovative boutique, they have also released the new “Panerai Luminor Geneva Boutique Special Edition”, exclusively in this new store, at 21 Rue du Rhône, in Geneva.

The motto behind this concept store stems from a modular approach to design and a homage to the brand’s Italian roots. The higher ups at Officine Panerai also hope to make this new creative concept, “Modularità Espressiva”, widespread throughout Panerai boutiques all over the world, redesigning the brand’s relationship with its customers.
The 44mm case is made of DLC-coated titanium with a slightly brushed finish. It has a 15mm thickness that preserves the standard “big watch” aesthetics many associate with the Panerai brand. Mounted to the case is a matching fixed bezel with similar ingrained finishing patterns.
On the flip-side is a titanium caseback engraved with an image of the majestic Jet d’Eau fountain, as a tribute to one of Geneva’s most famous landmarks.
It comes equipped with the Luminor Marina style winding crown protection that includes a lowering lever, while the setting-crown is conveniently nestled within. All topped by a sapphire crystal that also assists with water-resistance reaching up to 300 meters (1,000 feet).
Time is exhibited on a grey dial with rounded rectangular hour index markers and the Arabic numerals: 3, 6, 9 and 12. These elements are seen as cut-aways on Panerai’s iconic “sandwich” structured dial. This dial has a fume gradient finish, which gives it an overall grainy look, as if it were sprinkled with some sort of mineral coating.
On the lower-half of the dial they’ve added the “8 GIORNI” inscription in a white font, which is Italian for “8 DAYS”, so it can highlight the prolonged power reserve of this particular timepiece.
The blackened central hands, hour index markers and Arabic numerals have all undergone a green luminescent coating, for an enhanced legibility.
Panerai Luminor Geneva Boutique Special Edition
The “Panerai Luminor Geneva Boutique Special Edition” (Ref#: PAM02121) is powered by the in-house hand-wound mechanical movement, caliber P.5000 with 15½ lignes, 21 jewels, 127 components and 21,600 Vph. It comes equipped with a variable inertia balance, plus a free balanced spring that has excluded any curb pins to enhance performance. Power reserve on this watch is capable of an impressive long 192-hours (8 days), when fully wound. 
Mounted to the watch is a grey recycled-based PET strap with tone-on-tone stitching, secured to the wrist by a titanium pin buckle with a PVD black coating.
