Among Panerai’s historically distinctive configurations, the Destro remains one of the most closely connected to the functional demands of its military past. The new Luminor Destro PAM01732 brings that left-sided crown-protecting architecture to a contemporary 44mm case, combining the unconventional right-wrist layout with a matte blue sandwich dial and the hand-wound simplicity of Panerai’s three-day P.6000 movement.
The Panerai Luminor Destro PAM01732 features a newly developed 44mm stainless-steel case inspired by the architecture of Panerai’s historic 47mm Ref. 6152/1. Its cushion-shaped case and polished bezel preserve the familiar Luminor silhouette, but the defining difference appears immediately on the left side, where a brushed crown-protecting bridge replaces the conventional right-hand arrangement. Historically associated with military divers wearing their watches on the right wrist, the Destro configuration left the opposite hand freer to operate other essential diving equipment.

Around the back, a sapphire crystal caseback exposes the manually wound caliber P.6000. Horizontal brushing across the movement plates gives the caliber a restrained, industrial appearance, punctuated by blue engraved inscriptions that visually connect the mechanics with the blue dial above.
The crown and its locking protective bridge are positioned at 9 o’clock, establishing the defining Destro architecture and making the watch particularly suited to right-wrist wear. A domed sapphire crystal above the dial evokes the profile of the acrylic crystals used on Panerai’s earlier professional instruments while providing contemporary durability. Each watch is individually pressure-tested by Panerai beyond its stated depth rating to provide an additional safety margin. Water-resistance can reach up to 300 meters (984 feet).

The PAM01732 features a matte, grainy blue sandwich dial, bringing the color to a Luminor Destro configuration for the first time. Its two-layer construction follows one of Panerai’s most recognizable functional traditions, with the upper dial cut away to expose the indications beneath. Unlike its tobacco-dialed PAM01731 counterpart, the Destro eliminates the small seconds display entirely, creating an especially clean two-hand arrangement.

Oversized Arabic numerals occupy the cardinal positions at 12, 3, 6 and 9 o’clock, accompanied by elongated baton hour markers and Panerai’s broad hour and minute hands. Removing both the date and small seconds indications gives the dial an unusually symmetrical appearance and places the emphasis almost entirely on immediate legibility.

Luminous material beneath the sandwich dial illuminates the large numerals and hour markers, complemented by luminous hour and minute hands. Against the matte blue surface, these indications reinforce the high-contrast readability that originally made Panerai’s dial architecture useful as a professional underwater instrument.
Panerai Luminor Destro PAM01732
The “Officine Panerai Luminor Destro” (Ref#: PAM01732) is powered by the in-house manually hand-wound mechanical movement, caliber P.6000, operating at 21,600 vph. It comes equipped with a traversing balance bridge for increased stability, an Incabloc anti-shock system and a stop-seconds mechanism for precise time setting. Power reserve can last up to 72 hours, when fully wound.

Mounted on this watch is a light brown vintage-style calf leather strap, providing a warm contrast against the matte blue dial and polished steel case.

An additional blue rubber strap is supplied, creating a sportier configuration that reinforces the Luminor’s diving credentials. More importantly, the left-positioned crown-protecting bridge allows the PAM01732 to sit naturally on the right wrist, preserving the functional logic that originally distinguished Panerai’s Destro watches while bringing it into the more versatile 44mm format.
