Oris Great Barrier Reef Limited Edition IV
Oris remains committed to its “Change for the Better” mission, whether by introducing a smaller, lighter, fully recyclable Sustainable Watch Box, celebrating Local Heroes who embody the watchmaker’s honorable values, or partnering with the social enterprise Bracenet. This July, in support of the Australian non-profit Reef Restoration Foundation, Oris presents the Great Barrier Reef Limited Edition IV. This release features several unique design elements that make it particularly special.
The 43.5mm case with a thickness of approximately 13mm is made of stainless steel with brushed and polished finishes. This large and commanding presence on the wrist is complemented by the robust construction, ensuring durability and resistance to wear.On the flipside is a screw-in case back engraved with a unique coral and starfish motif, marking it as part of the Great Barrier Reef Limited Edition series. The individual limited-edition number is also engraved, adding a touch of exclusivity to each piece. It comes equipped with a screw-in crown, ensuring a secure and water-tight fit, and a unidirectional rotating bezel with a grey tungsten insert featuring a 60-minute scale and a triangle at the top. Water resistance is rated at 300 meters (1,000 feet).Time is exhibited on a vertical gradient turquoise and blue dial, evoking the mesmerizing depths of the Great Barrier Reef. The applied, shield-shaped, and faceted hour indices provide a striking contrast against the gradient background. The Alpha-style central hour and minute hands are designed for clear readability, while the lollipop central seconds hand adds a touch of whimsy. All hands and indices are treated with Super-LumiNova, ensuring excellent legibility in low-light conditions.Additionally, there is a date aperture at 6 o’clock with a date disc matching the darker section of the dial, maintaining the harmonious color scheme.
