Oris Carl Brashear Cal 401 Limited Edition
Oris has begun the new year by releasing their third bronze watch in honor of the U.S. Navy Diver Carl Brashear, an American hero who over came social adversity and became distinguished as the first African-American master diver. The watch is based on their “Divers Sixty Five” design and comes packed with a brand new in-house caliber, which features a 5-day power reserve. Given the high-quality, looks, and limited edition production of this timepiece, anyone interested should dive on iN.
The 40mm multi-piece case is made of bronze and the choice of this alloy represents various criteria. First off it matches the material that constructed the early diving equipment Brashear used in his diving expeditions. This fact further links the watch to its core inspiration and origin story. But, another endearing aspect is how bronze ages over time and develops that natural patina, which can imbue each watch with its own unique traits.
