Oris Big Crown Waldenburgerbahn Limited Edition
Instead of celebrating the skies in the form of an aviator watch, this new “Oris Big Crown Waldenburgerbahn” is landbound. A quick history lesson reveals that since Oris was founded in 1904 its main connection to the outside world has relied on a small local railway, covering 13 kilometers in northwestern Switzerland. 
An historic tribute to a low-cost rail network that has crossed the Waldenburg valley and connected the Oris headquarters in Hölstein, for over 118 years.The 40mm multi-piece case is made of stainless-steel with an overall brushed finish, while mounted to the case is a steel coin-edge bezel. This design is reminiscent of certain vintage pilot watches, specifically the “Big Crown Pointer”. 
On the flip-side is a solid steel screw-on caseback engraved with the old Waldenburgerbahn steam locomotive train. Plus the unique limited edition number for each of these historically themed timepieces.
It comes equipped with its signature screw-down security “big crown”, embossed by the Oris logo. All topped by a domed sapphire crystal on both sides with an anti-reflective coating inside. Water-resistance can reach up to 50 meters (164 feet).
Time is exhibited on a black dial with white painted Arabic numerals, followed by a white railroad motif minute index grid. 
Circling around the flange is a calendar ring, which is pointed out by a thin hand with a red tip, efficiently highlighting it apart from all the other indications. 
Its cathedral style central hands were crafted in a vintage aviator aesthetic. Plus the central hands and Arabic numerals have all undergone a luminescent coating, for an enhanced legibility.
Oris Big Crown Waldenburgerbahn Limited Edition
The “Oris Big Crown Waldenburgerbahn Limited Edition” (Ref#: 01 754 7785 4084-Set) is powered by a self-winding mechanical movement, caliber 754 with 26 jewels and 28,800 vph. Movement is based on the original SW 200-1 caliber, although further enhanced. Power reserve can last up to 38 hours, when fully wound.
Mounted on the watch is a dark brown Cervo Volante deer leather strap, secured by a steel pin buckle, plus a quick strap change system.
This is a limited edition of only 1,000 manufactured pieces. It also includes a travel pouch and a special Hölstein map cleaning cloth.
