Oris Big Crown ProPilot Day Date TLP Limited Edition
A new partnership has been established between Oris and the TLP (Tactical Leadership Programme), an elite pilot training school based in Albacete, Spain. This international military organization founded in 1978 was conceived to prepare NATO allied coalition forces for worldwide tactical air operations. 
To celebrate such a noteworthy occasion Oris has released a limited edition of their flight-ready ProPilot line of pilot’s watches with several historic components. The round 44mm multi-piece case is made of stainless-steel with a grey PVD coating, which attributes this military themed watch with an anti-glare “gunmetal” look. Mounted to the case is a coin-edge bezel with a brushed finish. 
This signature coin-edge design was inspired by jet engine turbines, while also providing a firmer grip when setting time. 
On the flip-side we encounter a screw-on case back adorned with an engraving of the TLP eagle logo and each unique limited edition number. 
Alongside the civilian model, Oris is also offering pilots graduating from TLP the opportunity to own a bespoke edition that will carry their name, programme year and their own limited edition number on the case back.
It comes equipped with an oversized screw-down crown with a riveted circumfrence, which allows for a firm grip even while wearing pilot gloves. All topped by a domed sapphire crystal with a double-sided antireflective coating. Water-resistance on this timepiece can reach up to 100 meters (330 feet).
Time is exhibited on a dark green dial with white Arabic numerals, followed by a ring of beige minute markers and white hour highlights. The central hands and Arabic numerals have all been treated with luminescent coating that glows blue in the dark. There is also a wide day-date window positioned at 3 o’clock. 
This dial was inspired by TLP pilot’s flight overalls, while the beige minutes track and inscriptions on the dial have applied a color-scheme that match the same color as the TLP golden eagle logo. 
Even the choice of the high performance textile Ventile® is a historical option that can be linked back to the British Royal Air Force pilots, for whom it was invented during the Second World War. This material was used to make immersion suits that saved the lives of many WWII pilots forced to crash dive at sea in dire environments during combat.

The “Oris Big Crown ProPilot Day Date TLP Limited Edition” (Ref#: 01 752 7760 4287) Is powered by self-winding mechanical movement, caliber Oris 752 with 26 jewels and 28,800 Vph. It is based on the Sellita SW220-1, but has been altered by Oris to include enlarged date and day windows. Power reserve on this watch can last up to 38 hours, when fully wound.
Mounted to the watch is an olive green Ventile® fabric strap, secured to the wrist by a steel gunmetal grey PVD-coated folding clasp.
