Back during the most recent Watches & Wonders 2025, Oris brought a splash of seasonal energy to its Big Crown Pointer Date collection with three new 40mm models in bright yellow, blue, and purple. Perfectly timed for the summer season, these colorful releases pair the collection’s signature pointer date complication with a fresh smooth-bezel design, previously reserved for in-house caliber versions, and an all-new 3-link stainless-steel bracelet that adds a sportier edge. The result is a vibrant twist on a classic Oris design, ready to bring warmth and playfulness to the wrist.

The stainless steel case measures 40mm in diameter, about 48mm lug-to-lug, and approximately 12mm in thickness, striking a balance between presence and wearability. It features polished case flanks, a brushed top surface, and a smooth, polished bezel. It was previously reserved for in-house caliber models, lending a contemporary and refined aesthetic. Flipping the watch over reveals a screwed exhibition caseback that offers a clear view of the Oris 754 automatic, complete with the brand’s signature red rotor and neatly finished bridges. Around the rim, the caseback ring is engraved with the essential specs, while the transparent window underscores the collection’s blend of everyday utility and mechanical charm.A fluted crown, true to the Big Crown line’s heritage, ensures easy operation of the time and date functions. The domed sapphire crystal complements the rounded profile, enhancing its vintage-inspired yet modern character. The crystal is also treated with anti-reflective coating for optimal legibility. Water-resistance can reach up to 50 meters (165 feet).
The redesigned dial is the focal point of these new releases, offered in three fresh and airy shades: yellow, blue, and purple. The familiar Pointer Date layout remains, with a peripheral date track and a central date hand, now updated to a long, pointed triangle tip instead of the older inverted form. Pencil-style hour and minute hands replace the antique cathedral hands of previous models, bringing a cleaner and more contemporary look.
The Arabic numerals for the hours have been resized and spaced to create more breathing room, resulting in a balanced and uncluttered presentation. The date numerals are crisply printed, and a discreet round date window at the periphery allows the date hand to point precisely without crowding the markers. Subtle chapter ring markings maintain the model’s hallmark precision and symmetry.
For low-light visibility, the hour markers appear to be solid blocks of Super-LumiNova, complemented by luminous pips on the chapter ring and lume-filled pencil hands. This new approach to the markers promises a brighter, more even glow than previous iterations, enhancing nighttime legibility while adding depth to the dial design.
