Oris Aquis Small Second Date
A very popular watch collection for divers on a budget can be found in the Oris Aquis series. It is capable of deep dives and built with professional endeavors in mind. It originally debuted in 2011 and its praise led to a version with a small seconds in 2017. The latest update adds a teal blue hue to its color selections, ready to dive into your next vacation destination
The 45.50 mm multi-piece case is made of stainless-steel with an overall brushed finish, mostly seen on the wide casebands. On the flip-side is a solid steel caseback that assures its capability of reaching diver standard depths in real world scenarios. It's been engraved with the water-resistance capability in circular conversion scale that indicates feets and meters. Mounted to the case is a blue teal unidirectional rotating bezel with a scratch-proof ceramic insert. It has been engraved with a 60-minute scale to assist divers with immersion times, among other practical uses.It comes equipped with a stainless-steel screw-in crown that is protected by crown guards with exposed screws. Topped by a sapphire crystal domed on both sides with an anti-reflective coating. Water-resistance can reach up to 500 meters (1640 feet). Time is exhibited on a gradient blue dial with stainless-steel applied hour index markers, followed by smaller white printed minute index markers circling around its periphery. But despite the official site calling this blue, it is clearly more of a teal blue tone. This gradient effect begins with a vibrant teal blue center that expands in a sunburst effect that gradually shifts in color and tones of shadow. Then the large small seconds appears to the left, composed by a minute ring and a snailed interior, which darkens similarly to the main blue hues gradient. There is a date aperture located at the 3 o’clock position. The thick uneven central stainless-steel hands, the hour indices, the small-seconds hand, and a bezel dot, have all been fitted with a luminescent coating for an enhanced legibility.
