The Seventies collection has long stood apart from the more traditional offerings of Glashütte Original. While the German manufacturer is best known for the elegant lines of its Senator and Pano families, the Seventies embraces a more unconventional personality with its TV-shaped case, integrated bracelet, and bold design language inspired by one of the most expressive decades in modern watchmaking. For 2026, Glashütte Original introduces the Seventies Chronograph XV Limited Edition, a monochromatic take on its integrated sports chronograph that trades vibrant colors for the timeless appeal of a reverse-panda dial. Limited to 100 pieces and available exclusively in Germany, Austria, and Switzerland, this latest edition combines vintage chronograph aesthetics with the brand’s modern in-house engineering.

The Glashütte Original Seventies Chronograph XV Limited Edition is housed in the collection’s signature TV-shaped stainless-steel case measuring 40mm by 40mm. Finished with a combination of brushed and polished surfaces, the square profile delivers a distinctive wrist presence while remaining surprisingly wearable thanks to its compact proportions and balanced design.

Turning the watch over reveals a sapphire crystal caseback displaying the movement inside. The transparent rear view showcases the beautifully finished calibre 37-02, allowing owners to appreciate the movement’s Glashütte stripes, skeletonized rotor, and refined decorative details. The solid construction of the case continues to emphasize the sporty character of the Seventies collection while preserving the elegance expected from a Glashütte Original timepiece.

The crown and chronograph pushers are aligned on the same horizontal axis, a benefit of the integrated chronograph architecture housed within. Protecting the dial is a sapphire crystal, while the robust stainless-steel construction enhances the watch’s everyday versatility. Water-resistance can reach up to 100 meters (330 feet).

The defining feature of the Seventies Chronograph XV Limited Edition is its reverse-panda dial configuration. A matte black lacquered base serves as the backdrop for contrasting silver galvanised chronograph registers, creating one of the most recognizable and desirable color combinations in the world of chronographs.

The display remains rich in functionality while preserving excellent legibility. White gold applied hour markers and matching hands are filled with Super-LumiNova, while the signature Panorama Date appears prominently against a black background. The chronograph indications include a central chronograph seconds hand, a 30-minute counter, and Glashütte Original’s distinctive arched aperture displaying the 12-hour totalizer.

Additional depth is created through the contrast between the matte dial surface and the metallic finish of the subdials. The layered arrangement of displays, combined with the monochromatic palette, reinforces the sporty vintage-inspired character of the watch while maintaining the clean and highly technical presentation expected from Glashütte Original.
