Omega Seamaster Diver 300M James Bond 60th Anniversary

To celebrate the 60th anniversary of the James Bond franchise that began back in 1962, Omega has released a new pair of the “Seamaster Diver 300M” model. Today we’ll focus on the classic blue wave dial version already available for order. Agent double “O” seven has exclusively worn Omega since 1995 when GoldenEye hit the theaters, starring Pierce Brosnan. We’ve seen various special editions with unique 007 themed details, but this is the first model to feature a small movie sequence constantly running on the caseback. The 42mm case is made of stainless-steel with a combination of brushed surfaces and polished accents. It comes equipped with a screw-in setting crown, plus a conical helium escape valve aligned at the 10 o’clock position. The overall Seamaster design has also retained its signature lyre-shaped lugs.Mounted to the case is a steel unidirectional rotating bezel, enhanced by a blue oxalic anodized aluminum insert with Super-LumiNova filled diving scale. On the flip-side is a sapphire exhibition caseback that allows a view into the inner workings of the mechanical movement. It features an animation of the famous 007 opening sequence with a silhouette of James Bond and a spinning gun barrel design. This is made possible with a patent-pending “moiré” effect, while the mechanical animation is linked to the central seconds hands. So as long as the watch is ticking the animation will be on a continuous loop.It comes equipped with a screw-down crown, embossed with the Omega logo, while in-between a pair of subtle crown guards. All topped by a domed sapphire crystal with an anti-reflective coating. Water-resistance can reach up to 300 meters (984 feet).Time is exhibited on a blue oxalic anodized dial with a laser engraved wave pattern. It features white round dotted hour index markers, single rectangle markers for the 3, 6 and 9 o’clock positions and a double rectangle marker for the 12 o’clock spot. Alongside the inner flange of the dial are portions of white printed railroad-type minute index markers, divided by single markers for every 5-minute increment. The polished steel skeletonized central hands, hour index markers, and bezel scale have all been fitted with a blue luminescent coating. Except for the minute hand and the “60” numeral on the bezel that appears in a green lume to highlight the James Bond 60th anniversary.
