Omega Seamaster Diver 300M Co-Axial Master Chronometer iN Summer Blue

Temperatures are ripe for diving season and the “Summer Blue” collection, created by Omega to celebrate their Seamaster models, may be a great wrist companion. Today we took a look at the “Seamaster Diver 300M” originally released in 1993 and marketed as offering “deep-sea adventures in a stylish way to keep track of time spent beneath the surface”. The brand has even referred to this model as the quintessential OMEGA dive watch, an oceanic icon. Now this divers watch becomes available with a Summer Blue wave-pattern ceramic dial, varnished with a gradient finish to better mix among the waves. The 42mm case is made of stainless-steel with a combination of brushed surfaces and polished accents. It measures in at 50mm from lug-to-lug with a thickness of 13.7mm and includes a conical helium escape valve aligned at the 10 o’clock position. The overall Seamaster design has also retained its signature lyre-shaped lugs. Mounted to the case is a steel unidirectional rotating bezel, enhanced by a blue ceramic insert as a new Summer Blue enamel (Grand feu) diving scale encircles the dial.Just like the recent “Seamaster Diver 300M Paris 2024 Edition” this edition has also been crafted without the standard sapphire exhibition caseback. Instead on the flip-side of this model is the same stamped commemorative Seamaster logo depicting a trident-bearing Poseidon and two seahorses, as seen on the whole “Summer Blue” collection. This was OMEGA’s 1956 original design which the brand has currently reinstated. It comes equipped with a screw-down crown, embossed with the Omega logo, while in-between a pair of subtle crown guards. All topped by a domed sapphire crystal with an anti-reflective coating. Water-resistance can reach up to 300 meters (984 feet).Time is exhibited on a “summer blue” ceramic dial with this model's iconic laser engraved wave pattern. It features raised light-blue round dotted hour index markers, single rectangle markers for the 3, 6 and 9 o’clock positions and a double rectangle marker for the 12 o’clock spot. Alongside the inner flange of the dial are portions of a light-blue printed railroad-type minute index markers, divided by single indices for every 5-minute increment. An iconic lollipop seconds hand can be seen ticking away with the same light-blue hue in its midst. The rhodium-plated central skeleton hands, lollipop-hand, and hour index markers have all been fitted with a unique light blue Super-LumiNova coating, for an enhanced legibility. Except for the central minute hand which shines in green, just like the 12 o'clock dot on the bezel. There is also a date window at the 6 o’clock position with light-blue numerals, which assure color consistency throughout the whole canvas.
