Omega Seamaster Aqua Terra "Tokyo 2020"

With the games currently underway and worldwide athletes competing for the gold at the Tokyo 2020 Olympics, let’s take a time-out. Did you know you can also strive for gold, while safe at home?... Well you can by investing in the Omega Seamaster Aqua Terra “Tokyo 2020” available in a pair of diameters meant to suit men and women alike. Now unpause and let's get back to the games!...

This round case can be had in either 38mm or 41mm both made out of 18k yellow gold with its characteristic short twisted lyre lugs. As usual Omega has mounted a polished bezel to contrast with the brushed contours of the case, for an added touch of subtle nuance.

On the flip-side is a sapphire exhibition caseback that allows to view the inner workings of the mechanical movement. It comes equipped with a rose gold oscillating weight, while the outer crystal has been decorated with the “TOKYO 2020” and Olympics logo featuring full-color rings. It also comes equipped with a riveted screw-in crown adorned by the Omega logo. All topped by a domed scratch-resistant sapphire crystal with anti-reflective treatment on both sides. Water-resistance on these watches can reach up to 150 meters (500 feet)Time is exhibited on a ceramic dial with a laser engraved distorted blue checkerboard board with gold applied hour index markers. This pattern was inspired by the Tokyo 2020 Olympic logo, while the blue color-scheme brings to mind an aquatic theme that plays well with the “Aqua Terra” collection. Both models showcase the same design pattern and central gold dauphine central hands with a broad arrow tip for the long minutes. But they do differ in two very noticeable ways. Omega has used dagger-style index markers for the larger 41mm option and a trapezoid shape date window at 6 o’clock. Plus unlike the ladies edition this larger dial has added an outer minutes ring. While the smaller 38mm has opted for some slightly rounded out index markers, which offers a more harmonious look suited for a ladies timepiece; plus they’ve also used a round date window.
