The Panerai Submersible GMT PAM01495 continues the brand’s exploration of high-performance materials and skeletonised engineering within the Submersible collection. Combining a DMLS titanium case, professional-grade diving specifications, and a fully openworked GMT movement, the PAM01495 represents one of Panerai’s most technical contemporary dive watches. Despite its highly modern execution, the model still preserves the bold identity and military-inspired functionality that define the Submersible line.
The sandblasted Grade 5 titanium case measures 47mm in diameter and is produced using Direct Metal Laser Sintering (DMLS) technology. This advanced manufacturing process builds the case layer by layer from titanium powder, allowing more complex internal structures while significantly reducing weight. Compared to conventional titanium cases, the construction is approximately 25% lighter, while achieving over 50% weight reduction versus steel equivalents.
Turning the watch over reveals a sapphire crystal caseback displaying the skeletonised calibre P.4001/S. The titanium rear section integrates a visible power reserve indicator while preserving the highly technical architecture of the movement. The openworked bridges, off-centre micro-rotor, and layered construction reinforce the watch’s industrial and contemporary aesthetic.
The signature Panerai crown-protection bridge remains central to the profile of the case, reinforcing the model’s unmistakable Submersible identity. The unidirectional rotating bezel is fitted with a matte blue ceramic insert, while sapphire crystals enhance visibility from both sides of the watch. Water-resistance can reach up to 500 meters (1,640 feet).
The skeletonised dial is built around a distinctive grid-like structure inspired by maritime nets, giving the watch a highly technical and architectural appearance. Large open areas reveal the movement beneath, while preserving the robust visual identity expected from a professional Submersible model.
Applied indices and broad hands maintain excellent readability despite the openworked construction. An orange GMT hand provides clear distinction for second-time-zone tracking, while the date display at 3 o’clock uses Panerai’s patented polarised system, remaining almost invisible until viewed directly through the aperture.
The layered skeleton architecture creates substantial visual depth across the dial. Blue and green Super-LumiNova elements separate key functions for improved nighttime readability, with the bezel dots and minute markers glowing blue while the remaining indications emit green luminescence. The contrasting colours enhance functionality without overwhelming the monochromatic titanium and blue palette.
Officine Panerai Submersible GMT
The “Officine Panerai Submersible GMT” (Ref#: PAM01495) is powered by the in-house self-winding mechanical movement, caliber P.4001/S with 341 components, and 28,800 vph. It comes equipped with a skeletonised architecture, off-centre micro-rotor, twin barrels, GMT complication with AM/PM indicator, patented polarised date system, power reserve indicator on the back, and seconds reset function. Power reserve can last up to 72 hours, when fully wound.
Mounted on this watch is a blue rubber strap secured by a sandblasted titanium trapezoidal buckle. The sporty texture and deep blue tone complement the ceramic bezel and luminous dial accents perfectly, reinforcing the maritime character of the watch.
Panerai also includes an additional black bi-material strap for a more tactical appearance, while the lightweight DMLS titanium construction helps the substantial 47mm case wear more comfortably than expected.
