Panerai is renowned for its rich history tied to the Italian military, where they’ve been dedicated to creating watches that symbolize qualities like courage, teamwork, and the thrill of challenges. These principles align with those of the renowned Navy SEALs, who are celebrated for their extraordinary training and achievements in the maritime world. Now a collaboration between them both has led to a series of timepieces designed specifically for diving and sports, while meticulously crafted with the Navy SEALs' expertise in mind. It serves as a powerful symbol of the resilience and unwavering resolve shared by both Panerai and the Navy SEALs.The 44mm case is made of brunito steel, which consists of regular steel that received a burnished case finishing. Mounted to the case is a matching fixed brunito bezel with similar grainy patterns. On the flip-side is a screwed on brunito steel caseback, which appears engraved by the Navy Seals logo with the American flag in the background, plus the inscriptions “UNITED STATES” and “NAVY SEALS”.It comes equipped with the iconic Panerai winding crown protection with the setting-crown nestled within, which also includes a lowering lever, plus this edition's winder portion comes in green. Water-resistance can reach up to 300 meters (1,000 feet).Time is exhibited on an anthracite dial with rectangular hour index markers and the Arabic numerals: 6, 9 and 12. These elements are seen as cut-aways on Panerai’s iconic “sandwich” structured dial. Although the Panerai website does describe the dial as anthracite, in fact it has more textures than that. Besides a grainy appearance that syncs well with the brunito case, there is a gradient effect that spans from a gray center to a dark near black look as we near the flange.There is also a sub-seconds dial highlighted by an orange hand aligned with the 9 o’clock position and a small date aperture at the 3 o’clock spot. The blackened central hands, as well as the sub-seconds hand, hour index markers and Arabic numerals have all undergone a luminescent coating that emits a green glow, for an enhanced legibility.

The “Officine Panerai Luminor Navy Seals” (Ref#: PAM01412) is powered by the self-winding mechanical movement, caliber P.9010 with 31 jewels, 13¾ lignes, 200 components and 28,800 vph. Power reserve can last up to 72 hours (3 days), when fully wound.Mounted to the watch is a Caoutchouc black rubber strap, secured by a pin buckle. It also comes with an additional bi-material strap.
