Officine Panerai Luminor Chrono Navy Seals Editions

As aforementioned Panerai's Navy SEALs series pays tribute to the courageous and highly skilled soldiers that have embraced a vow to protect and serve our country, which proudly aligns with the brand's extensive naval heritage. In total this collection is composed of five models, although two of them only differ by alloy, which is the case (pun unintended) for PAM01409 in a brushed Brunito steel case and PAM01419 crafted out of Panerai's unique Carbotech™. Now these resilient timepieces can be had in a military themed color scheme, through this limited edition collection. The 44mm case is available in either brushed Brunito steel (which consists of regular steel that received a burnished case finishing) or carbotech™ (which is a proprietary alloy composed of thin sheets of carbon fibers compressed at a controlled temperature under high pressure together with a high-end polymer, PEEK - Polyether Ether Katone that enhances its durability.)On the flip-side is a screwed-on caseback that matches each version’s case alloy, and both are engraved by the Navy Seals logo with the American flag in the background, plus the inscriptions “UNITED STATES” and “NAVY SEALS”.

They come equipped with two pushers to operate the chronograph functions and the iconic Panerai winding crown protected by the classic bridge lever device patented by the brand in the 1950’s. All topped by a sapphire crystal with an anti-reflective coating. Water-resistance can reach up to 300 meters (1000 feet).Despite the distinct casing both models share the same dial layout in which time is exhibited on an anthracite sandwich dial with hour index markers and the Arabic numerals 6 and 12; followed by a ring of smaller white printed minute index markers, with slightly bigger markings for each 5-minute increment.  Near the periphery circling the circumference of the dial is a black colored tachymeter and knot scale. There are also two sub-dials with blackened hands: a 30-minute counter at 3 o’clock with a crosshair motif and orange outlined hand, plus a sub-seconds at the 9 o’clock position with a bullseye target motif. The blackened central hands, sub-dial indicators, hour index markers and Arabic numerals have all undergone a luminescent coating that emits a green glow. The tip of the chrono hand has been given an orange tip, to enhance its legibility, while also adding a dash of color to its overall palette.
