Longines Master Collection GMT
The Longines Master Collection has maintained a discreet profile, characterized by a classic and timeless design that, while elegant and restrained, lacked a touch of extravagance. In late 2022 and the previous year, Longines addressed this by introducing a series of Master models featuring stunning dials adorned with engraved Breguet numerals. Now, for its inaugural release of 2024, the collection steps into the spotlight once more, unveiling two exclusive versions that seamlessly blend luxury, refined design, and practicality. Let's take a look at the latest additions to the Longines Master Collection: the GMT Gold limited edition models.The 40mm diameter case is available made out of 18K rose or yellow gold with a polished finish. It boasts a modern design that incorporates a popular diameter, coupled with a sleek and contemporary slim case height of 10.40mm.
On the flip-side is a transparent sapphire exhibition caseback that allows a view into the inner workings of the mechanical movement. It features an oscillating weight with a cut-out representing the iconic winged logo, while “ONE OF 500” is engraved on the rim to highlight its limited edition status.
It comes equipped with a knurled setting-crown in gold, embossed with Longines winged hourglass logo. All topped by a sapphire crystal with an anti-reflective coating. Water-resistance can reach up to 30 meters (98 feet).
Time is exhibited on a frosted silver-colored dial with applied Roman numerals in solid yellow or rose gold, encircled by a black printed railroad minute track. The sloped inner flange features a 24h scale.
This 24-hour scale in Arabic numerals on the rim has reversed numerals at 3 o’clock and 9 o'clock for easier reading of the second time zone. The black GMT hand provides good legibility as it contrasts with the silver background and gilt indications.
The gold polished central hands rely on their natural shine to stand out, since no kind of luminescence was applied to them or the numerals. There is also a date window at the 6 o’clock position. Overall a dial with practicality and usefulness in mind.
Longines Master Collection GMT
The “Longines Master Collection GMT” (Ref#: L2.844.6.71.2 iN 18k yellow gold) or (Ref#: L2.844.8.71.2 iN 18k rose gold) is powered by the in-house self-winding mechanical movement, caliber L844.5 with 21 jewels, and 25,200 vph. It comes equipped with a monocrystalline silicon balance-spring. Power reserve can last up to 72 hours, when fully wound.
