Longines Conquest Heritage Central Power Reserve
To commemorate the 70th anniversary of its Conquest collection, first introduced in 1954 and renowned for its sports and achievements, Longines unveils the Conquest Heritage Central Power Reserve. This unique watch, inspired by the 1959 Conquest ref. 9028, stands out with its innovative central power reserve indicator, where two rotating discs are ingeniously positioned on the same axis as the watch hands, at the dial's heart.
This feature marks a creative twist on traditional complications, celebrating the heritage of a line that was the first from the Swiss brand to be trademarked by the Federal Intellectual Property Office in Berne, Switzerland. The case with a diameter of 38mm and thickness of 12.30mm is made of stainless-steel with a mix of brushed casebands and polished surfaces, while mounted by a high-polish steel bezel for an extra shine. On the flipside is a sapphire exhibition caseback that allows a view into the inner workings of the mechanical movement. It features an oscillating weight decorated by a cut-out of Longines winged hourglass logo. It comes equipped with a knurled setting-crown in gold, embossed with Longines winged hourglass logo. All topped by a box sapphire crystal with an antireflective coating on both sides. Water-resistance can reach up to 50 meters (164 feet).Time is exhibited on either a black, anthracite gray, or champagne dial with a perimeter adorned by hour markers available in shades of yellow gold, rose gold, or silver, all of which are applied and faceted for a refined look. True to the Conquest collection's design ethos, these markers are set against a backdrop of concentric circles, with a delicate thread delineating the minute indicators from the rest of the dial.In this watch model, the innovative design places the power reserve indicator on a centrally located spiraling disc, with a distinctive baton-like pointer, broadening at its tip, to show the energy reserve level against a peripheral scale marked from '64' to '0'. This setup visually communicates the watch's remaining operational time. The watch can be wound manually via the crown or automatically by wrist movement, which turns the spiraling disc.At the 12 o'clock position, the date is showcased within a trapezoid-framed window, enhancing legibility. The towering, skyscraper-inspired hands for hours and minutes, as well as the hour markers, are finished with Super-LumiNova for an enhanced legibility.
