Longines continues to honor its longstanding relationship with alpine sports by releasing the Conquest Chrono Ski Limited Edition in celebration of the 48th FIS Alpine Ski World Championship, set to take place in Saalbach, Austria. As the Official Timekeeper for the FIS Alpine Ski World Cup and World Championships, Longines brings forth a timepiece that not only reflects the brand’s dedication to the sport but also carries an updated design inspired by its Conquest Chronograph collection, which received a significant refresh in 2023. This limited edition, worn by World Champion Marco Odermatt, offers enthusiasts a sporty yet refined look with subtle enhancements to the dial, caseback, and overall aesthetic.
The 42mm case is crafted from stainless steel, with a height of 14.3mm that provides a solid wrist presence without compromising wearability. It features a sophisticated blend of brushed and polished surfaces that emphasize its robust architecture. Completing the design, the case is fitted with a fixed black ceramic tachymeter bezel, enhancing both functionality and adding a sleek, modern touch.
Turning the watch over reveals a solid caseback, engraved with an alpine skier at its center, surrounded by “Saalbach 2025 – FIS Alpine World Ski Championships” and “Limited Edition – One of 2025,” along with water and magnetic resistance specifications. The engraving pays homage to the upcoming ski championship and makes each piece unique within this limited run.
The screw-down crown, flanked by raised guards, and the pump-style chronograph pushers at 2 and 4 o’clock to operate the chronograph functions. All topped by a sapphire crystal that is anti-reflective on both sides, ensuring clear visibility in all lighting conditions. Water-resistance can reach up to 100 meters (328 feet), supporting the watch’s capability to withstand outdoor conditions.
The dial presents a refined anthracite tone with a vertical satin finish, lending a textured look that complements the watch’s sporty aesthetic. The three recessed sub-dials: a small seconds at 3 o’clock, a 12-hour counter at 6, and 30-minute counter at 9. They all stand out with their black snailed surrounds, adding visual depth and contrast to the layout. A black ring between the dial plate and the outer minute track further emphasizes the layered design, enhancing the readability of each function.
Red accents bring a vibrant contrast to the overall dial. The central chronograph hand features a red tip, while the hands of the chronograph counters are also rendered in full red, giving a lively pop to the anthracite backdrop. Framing the dial, the tachymeter scale on the bezel adds to the watch’s practical appeal for sports timing.
Super-LumiNova fills the polished hour and minute hands as well as the applied, faceted indices at the cardinal points, ensuring visibility in low-light conditions. Small squares of red luminescence on the remaining hour markers provide a subtle glow in the dark, tying the look together with a perfect blend of function and style.
Longines Conquest Chrono Ski Limited Edition
The “Longines Conquest Chrono Ski Limited Edition” (Ref#: L3.836.4.52.9) is powered by the self-winding mechanical movement, caliber L898.5 with 37 jewels, and 28,800 vph. It is based on a modified ETA 2892 and comes equipped with an anti-magnetic silicon balance spring. Power reserve can last up to 59 hours, when fully wound. 
The watch comes with both a stainless steel bracelet and a black rubber strap, allowing for versatile wear.
The stainless steel bracelet includes a triple-security folding clasp with pushers, while the rubber strap features a double-security folding clasp with micro-adjustment, ensuring comfort and security.
