Jaeger-LeCoultre Reverso Tribute Monoface Small Seconds

It all started back in 1931 when Jaeger-LeCoultre released their first “Reverso”. Now to celebrate the 90th anniversary of one of the brands most iconic designs, they've released the “Jaeger-LeCoultre Reverso Tribute Monoface Small Seconds” with a green dial and all its essential trademark features. The Reverso collection is by far one of the most iconic and recognizable models in the JLC catalog. And if things weren’t classy enough, back in 2018 they initiated a collaboration with Casa Fagliano, in the form of the “Jaeger-LeCoultre Reverso Duoface X Casa Fagliano” (Ref#: Q396245J), which they’ve partnered with again for this latest release.
Casa Fagliano is one of the greatest Argentine boot-makers, renown worldwide for working with soft, supple leather that is famed for its durability. The teaming up of such reputable partners has resulted in high levels of craftsmanship too wide acclaim, which is why Jaeger-LeCoultre has kept expanding this collaboration. The 27.4mm rectangular case is made of stainless-steel with its iconic reversible portion that can be flipped to reveal a solid case back. It never ceases to amaze how such a thin case, measuring in at only 8.5mm, is capable of smoothly swiveling out to allow the front or the back to be visible.Despite its apparent fragile and classy demeanor, which leads most horology enthusiasts to consider it a “dress watch”.In fact the Reverso was one of the first official “sports watches” ever created, having been designed to withstand possible impacts and collisions on the polo field. It comes equipped with a setting-crown that includes an embossed "JL" logo. All topped by a sapphire crystal that assists with water-resistance on this watch reaching up to 30 meters (96 feet).Time is exhibited on a green sunray-brushed dial with steel applied hour index markers, followed by smaller white printed railroad-motif minute index markers that adhere to its rectangular shape. There is also a sub-seconds dial that spreads out, taking up much of the dials lower-half. While the upper-half of the dial includes the full “Jaeger-LeCoultre” logo, plus en embossed steel “JL” logo. All these index markers and the sub-seconds have been meticulously applied by hand. It also comes equipped with central stainless-steel dauphine style hands.Overall what we encounter here is the very simple and classic default Reverso design in a gorgeous green version. The edition of more color options is a clever and natural move by JLC, as they keep growing the “Reverso Tribute Small Seconds” collection.
