Jaeger-LeCoultre Reverso Tribute Duoface Calendar
Jaeger-LeCoultre has taken two of its most typical complications and slightly revised the Reverso design, to properly suit the occasion. The newly released "Jaeger-LeCoultre Reverso Tribute Duoface Calendar” is a hybrid mix that combines a triple calendar and a Duoface which provides a second timezone, all powered by one single caliber movement. The 29.9mm rectangular case is available in either stainless-steel or 18k pink gold with its iconic reversible portion capable of smoothly swiveling out to allow the front or the back to be visible. On this model the flip-side reveals its complications in a different configuration (as we further detail below), which can become the user's main display with a simple swivel flip, thanks to its patented design.Unlike slimmer Reverso’s that tend to measure in at only 8.5mm, this version has a slightly thicker 10.9mm casing, while the lug-to-lug length measures in at 49.4mm. It comes equipped with a setting crown embossed with the JLC logo, plus two small pushers to correct the triple calendar complications. All topped by a sapphire crystal that assists with water-resistance reaching up to 30 meters (96 feet).Time is exhibited on either a silvered gray or charcoal gray dial both with a sunray-brushed finish. It features applied alloy matching hour index markers, followed by smaller black printed railroad-motif minute index markers that adhere and reinforce its rectangular shape. The triple calendar starts on the upper-half of the dial with the full “Jaeger-LeCoultre” logo underneath a two-window day and month outlined in a gold or steel frame. While on the lower-half is a date ring with a touch of red in the form of a crescent moon tipped hand and the 31 numeral (it appears in light blue for the steel model) to highlight a full month. In the midst of this sub-dial is a vividly decorated moon-phase with a gradient blue darker painted sky with a golden or steel moon.On the reverse we flip-over to a new dial in either blue (steel) or dark gray (pink gold) both with a sunray finish that mimics our first encounter with the primary dial. A interior ring with a rail-road motif minute track appears carved into a lower layer. Underneath appears a smaller Night/Day disc sub-dial decorated with a sun and moon. The bottom corners are inscribed with “NIGHT” and “DAY” to further showcase its complications. Both sides of this Duoface come equipped with steel or pink gold dauphine style central hands. All these index markers and the sub-seconds have been meticulously applied by hand.
