Jaeger-LeCoultre Polaris Mariner Memovox & Date
Back in 2018 the “Polaris” collection was launched by Jaeger-LeCoultre as a sporty watch that could also transition into a more elegant soirée. But, despite its apparent versatility this timepiece was not prepared for deep dives. A few major upgrades to this “Polaris Mariner” pair that make all the difference were functional enhancements to meet the ISO6425 standard and classify as a legit diving watch. The 42mm case is made of stainless-steel and both models come with an exhibition case back, which allows to view the inner workings of their respective caliber movement. Where these cases differ is in their thickness with the “Memovox” measuring in at 15.63mm and the “Date” model with a slimmer 13.92mm.
Another upgrade to these watches were the inclusion of screw-in crowns, which have directly contributed to their increased water-resistance. They each come equipped with extra pushers to operate their corresponding complications. As well as rotating elements that can set and activate the Memovox's chiming alarm feature.Water-resistance on these watches can reach up to 300m (984 feet), which as aforementioned has officially made these watches an option for professional diver’s.Time is exhibited on a blue gradient dial in a combination of sun-ray, grained and opaline finishes, with the Arabic numerals: 6, 9, 12 and polished rhodium-plated hour index markers. On the periphery of the dial is a rotating inner bezel with a 60-minute scale. The central skeletonised steel hour hand, hour index markers and Arabic numerals have all been fitted with a blue lume, while the minute hand has been given a differentiating orange luminescence, for an enhanced legibility. There is a date aperture at the 3 o’clock position.
