Jaeger-LeCoultre Master Ultra Thin Tourbillon Enamel
Jaeger-LeCoultre's Master Thin collection encompasses a range of refined, ultra-thin dress watches, featuring options from simple time-and-date to intricate moon phase, tourbillon, and perpetual calendar models. The collection initially offered subdued beige or sunray decorated dials and later introduced métiers d’art dials in 2018. These hand-guilloché dials, first seen on the Master Ultra Thin Moon model, added a touch of sophistication and have since been incorporated into more complex designs. The newest addition to this line is the hand-guilloché dial on the rose gold Master Ultra Thin Tourbillon Enamel model, showcasing a captivating new shade of blue. The 40mm diameter case is made of 18k rose gold with an overall polished finish. Mounted by a thin bezel that fully integrates to create a compact case with a thickness of 12.13mm. Its classic profiled lugs provide an accommodating design that remain a staple of this model. On the flip-side is a sapphire exhibition case back that allows a view into the inner workings of the mechanical movement. Official images haven’t yet been made available, but if it follows the aesthetics of previous editions it will feature a gold oscillating weight, designed in the form of the “JL” logo.It comes equipped with a riveted setting-crown engraved with the JLC logo, while nearby this same case band has the date corrector. Water-resistance can reach up to 50 meters (164 feet).Time is exhibited on a sunray pattern dial executed with hand-guilloché and blue Grand Feu enamel, gold applied elongated indices, followed by smaller gold dotted minute markings. Enhancing the elegance and classic design are the central rose gold Dauphine hands, complementing the surrounding hour indices and blue background. The hand-guilloché pattern on the dial, consisting of 180 sun rays extending from the center to the edges, captures light with each wrist movement. Achieving absolute straightness, even spacing, and alignment of each ray demands the expertise of a master guillocheur, skillfully operating the rose engine lathe. Additionally, the hand-snailed or azurage interior of the noon date indicator presents another challenge. The upper-half of the dial is decorated by a date counter with snailed interior at 12 o’clock, while the lower-half features a tourbillon aperture with seconds track on periphery at 6 o'clock. This rounded tourbillon bridge is also crafted from mirror-polished rose gold, which adds color and legibility with a blue triple seconds hand.
