Jaeger-LeCoultre Master Control Memovox Timer
What’s that sound!?… Jaeger-LeCoultre has set the bells swinging once again by releasing a new alarm watch. But, not only does this timepiece come packed with tunes, it also delivers on looks. This blue “Master Control Memovox Timer” is a limited edition release. so if it strikes your fancy, you should secure one before the bell tolls!
The 40mm case is made of stainless-steel with a satin and polished finish, while on the flip-side is a sapphire exhibition case back, which allows to view the inner workings of the mechanical movement.
In order to activate the alarm, you simply have to use the upper of the two crowns on the side of the case (near the 2 o’clock position) to set it.
The alarm will only work if its separate mainspring has been wound and the crown can serve to turn it on or off. When fully wound the alarm should sound for about 10 to 20 seconds before its repeating chime whimpers out.
It also comes equipped with the previously redesigned setting crowns that now provide a better grip. All topped by a sapphire crystal. Water-resistance on this watch can reach up to 50 meters (164 feet).
Time is exhibited on a two-tone blue dial with a combination of a sunray-brushed and opaline finish with the Arabic numerals: 6, 9, 12 and dagger-style hour index markers. On the periphery of the dial is a contrasting light-blue indexed minute ring.
This new limited edition is also inaugurating a new additional complication named “Time”. It enables the user to set the alarm base on the number of hours that should elapse before the alarm rings. All you need to do is adjust the JL-tipped central hand with the central grey 12-hour counter.
The central steel hands and dotted hour index markers seen on the outer flange ring, have all been fitted with a luminescent green coating to provide an enhanced legibility. There is also date aperture at the 3 o’clock position.
