Jaeger-LeCoultre Master Control iN 2022

The “Master Control” collection was originally launched, back in 1992. At the time they were the first JLC timepieces to feature the pioneering ‘1000 Hours Control’ certification, which is where its moniker derived from. It was developed to guarantee perfect execution and the highest level of precision, which would later be applied across the whole Jaerger-LeCoultre catalog. Since then it has been updated in several iterations, leading up to this new pair of limited editions. Both options come in the same 40mm case made out of stainless-steel with a mixture of polished surfaces and brushed casebands. While mounted to the case is a thin steel bezel with a mirror like polished finish as well.On the flip-side both feature a sapphire exhibition case back, which allows a view into the inner workings of the mechanical movement. Where we can observe a gold oscillating weight, designed in the form of the “JL” logo.Although both cases measure in at 40mm the “Master Control Calendar” is slightly thicker at 10.95 mm. Plus it also includes small pushers that allow the user to correctly set the calendar functions. They also come equipped with the standard setting-crown, decorated with a “JL” embossed logo. A heightened sense of depth to its features is brought forth by combining a brushed finished case, with a contrasting polished bezel and lugs. All topped by a sapphire crystal with an anti-glare treatment. Water-resistance on these watches can reach up to 50 meters (164 feet). Both watches exhibit time on a blue dial with an elegant sunray-brushed finish, but are easily told apart by their differing complications. The “Master Control Date”. has been adorned with steel-applied hour index markers and the Arabic numerals: 6, 9 and 12. While circling around the periphery of the dial is a series of subtle minute index markers, with small dotted indices for every 5-minute increment. It also features a date aperture at the 3 o’clock position framed within a steel box.
