The Jaeger-LeCoultre Duometre collection has long represented the manufacturer's most technical and experimental side, combining high complications with the brand’s patented Dual-Wing architecture. Now, the Jaeger-LeCoultre Duometre Heliotourbillon Perpetual returns in a striking new platinum execution. First introduced in 2024, this extraordinary creation combines a triple-axis tourbillon, perpetual calendar, big date, and moon phase display within a contemporary monochromatic design. Paired with a full platinum bracelet and grey-toned dial, the new edition feels colder, heavier, and even more architectural than its predecessor.
The Duometre Heliotourbillon Perpetual is housed in a commanding 44mm platinum case measuring 14.8mm thick. Inspired by the rounded forms of 19th-century savonette pocket watches, the 40-part construction combines polished, brushed, and micro-blasted surfaces to create strong contrasts throughout the architecture. The recessed screwed lugs reinforce the technical appearance while helping to visually reduce the size of the case.
Turning the watch over reveals a sapphire crystal caseback displaying the manually wound calibre 388 inside. The rear view highlights the movement’s dual-barrel construction, radiating Geneva stripes, and the complex architecture of the Duometre system. The finishing is exceptionally elaborate, with bridges, wheels, and structural components carefully arranged to showcase the technical depth of the movement.
The notched winding crown integrates neatly into the rounded profile of the platinum case. A convex sapphire crystal protects the dial, while an additional sapphire aperture on the left side of the case offers a dramatic side view of the triple-axis tourbillon and its cylindrical hairspring in motion. Water-resistance can reach up to 30 meters (98 feet).
The dial of the Duometre Heliotourbillon Perpetual is divided into two distinct visual zones. From 7 to 11 o’clock, an openworked section exposes the spectacular triple-axis tourbillon against a dark blue lacquered starry backdrop, creating a striking contrast with the monochromatic grey architecture surrounding it.
The main dial area adopts a rounded triangular layout that organises the perpetual calendar indications with impressive symmetry. A large sub-dial for the hours and minutes dominates the right side and integrates the big date display at 3 o’clock. Smaller counters positioned around the tourbillon aperture display the day, month, leap year, and moon phase indications, while dual power reserve indicators sit above and below the central time display.
Different finishes add depth and complexity throughout the dial, including opaline textures, brushing, and snailed surfaces. Applied white gold numerals and indices stand out crisply against the grey backdrop, while the three red pointers mounted on the rotating tourbillon cage introduce a vivid technical accent. The layered sapphire construction and exposed regulator create a dramatic sense of motion and dimensionality rarely seen in traditional perpetual calendar watches.
Jaeger-LeCoultre Duometre Heliotourbillon Perpetual
The “Jaeger-LeCoultre Duometre Heliotourbillon Perpetual” (Ref#: Q6206150) is powered by the in-house manual-winding mechanical movement, caliber 388 with 89 jewels, 655 components, and 28,800 vph. It comes equipped with patented Duometre technology featuring two barrels and two separate gear trains linked to a single regulating organ, as well as a triple-axis tourbillon with cylindrical hairspring supported on ceramic ball bearings. Power reserve can last up to 46 hours, when fully wound.
Mounted on this watch is a five-row platinum bracelet secured by a white gold clasp. The supple construction adds an unexpected sense of flexibility and wearability to such a mechanically dense grand complication, while the monochromatic metallic tones perfectly complement the grey dial and platinum case. Despite its complexity and substantial weight, the bracelet gives the watch a more contemporary and slightly sportier presence on the wrist.
The Jaeger-LeCoultre Duometre Heliotourbillon Perpetual is produced as a limited edition of only 20 pieces worldwide.
