IWC Schaffhausen continues its long-running partnership with the Mercedes-AMG PETRONAS Formula One Team with one of its boldest team watches yet. Created in tribute to the 2026 Singapore Grand Prix, the new Pilot’s Watch Chronograph 41 Mercedes-AMG PETRONAS Formula One Team pairs lightweight titanium with a saturated purple dial inspired by Singapore’s national flower, the Vanda Miss Joaquim orchid, contrasted by the team’s unmistakable PETRONAS green.
The IWC Pilot’s Watch Chronograph 41 Mercedes-AMG PETRONAS Formula One Team (Ref. IW388121) features a grade 5 titanium case measuring 41mm in diameter and 14.5mm thick. Its predominantly brushed surfaces are complemented by polished accents, retaining the functional appearance associated with IWC’s Pilot’s Watches while making use of a material valued for its combination of low weight and high strength. Titanium also provides a direct connection to motorsport, where it is used for high-performance engine components including valves.
Around the back, a transparent sapphire crystal caseback provides a view of the IWC-manufactured caliber 69385. The movement is decorated with Geneva stripes and circular graining, while its openworked rotor features additional circular graining across its upper surface. PETRONAS green lettering printed on the underside of the sapphire crystal identifies the watch’s connection to the Mercedes-AMG PETRONAS Formula One Team.
The screw-in crown is accompanied by the chronograph pushers at 2 and 4 o’clock, maintaining the familiar architecture of IWC’s Pilot’s Chronograph. A convex sapphire crystal with anti-reflective coating on both sides protects the dial and is specially secured against displacement caused by sudden drops in air pressure. Water-resistance can reach up to 100 meters (328 feet).
The defining feature of this edition is its deep purple dial with a sunburst finish, a color selected in tribute to Singapore and its national flower, the purple Vanda Miss Joaquim orchid. The connection is particularly fitting for a watch created around the Singapore Grand Prix, home to Formula One’s first night race. Against this saturated background, PETRONAS green appears across the numerals, indices, minute track and additional dial details, establishing an immediate connection to the Mercedes-AMG PETRONAS Formula One Team.
Blackened hands contrast against the purple surface, while recessed sub-dials with snailed finishing add texture and depth to the display. The chronograph minutes are positioned at 12 o’clock as part of IWC’s characteristic vertical sub-dial arrangement, while the combined day-date display at 3 o’clock is framed and presented on black discs with PETRONAS green indications. The configuration maintains the highly recognizable instrument-inspired architecture that has characterized IWC Pilot’s Chronographs for decades.
Super-LumiNova further emphasizes the purple-and-green color scheme, with the blackened hands receiving PETRONAS green luminous inserts and the green numerals and indices also incorporating luminous material. The resulting glow reinforces the motorsport-inspired palette in low-light conditions while providing the legibility expected from IWC’s aviation-derived chronograph design.

Mounted on this watch is a purple rubber strap secured by a titanium pin buckle, extending the saturated dial color onto the wrist while contrasting with the lightweight grey titanium case and PETRONAS green details.
IWC’s EasX-CHANGE system allows the strap to be removed and exchanged without tools at the touch of a button, providing an easy way to alter the otherwise particularly bold purple configuration.
