The Pilot’s Watch Automatic 41 George Russell is housed in a 41mm black zirconium oxide ceramic case with a thickness of 11.4mm. The matte ceramic surface reinforces the stealth-driven identity of IWC’s Top Gun family, while keeping weight low and scratch resistance high. Its proportions strike a balance between modern presence and everyday wearability.The titanium caseback is engraved with the number “63,” a direct reference to George Russell’s long-standing racing number, inherited from his family’s early karting days and now featured prominently on his helmet. This detail personalises the edition while preserving the clean, tactical aesthetic of the Top Gun design. Inside, a soft-iron inner case shields the movement from magnetic interference, maintaining the anti-magnetic credentials expected of a professional pilot’s watch.
The screw-in crown is crafted from Ceratanium, IWC’s proprietary material that merges titanium’s lightness with ceramic’s hardness. A sapphire crystal with anti-reflective coating is secured against displacement caused by sudden drops in air pressure.
