IWC Big Pilot’s Watch Monopusher Edition “Le Petit Prince”
Pilot watches are some of the most celebrated timepieces due to their historical ties. Most brands have several options in their catalog, but the Flieger-style pilot’s watch is one of IWC’s specialties. Now for the first time ever they’ve added a chronograph complication to their Big Pilot’s Watch series, while also combining the aesthetics of a “Le Petit Prince” blue dial. Introducing the new IWC Big Pilot’s Watch Monopusher Edition “Le Petit Prince” limited edition of only 500 pieces.
The 46mm case is made of stainless-steel with brushed and polished accents, while the slim polished bezel maintains the original flieger design associated with this pilot watch.
On the flip-side is a transparent sapphire exhibition case back, which allows a view into the inner workings of the mechanical movement. Each unique limited edition number has been engraved along the steel rim portion, while the center view reveals several jewels, golden gears and a useful power reserve indicator. 
This is the same power reserve seen on the dial-side of the “Portofino Monopuser” (Ref#: IW515103) and “Portugieser Laureus Sport for Good” (Ref#: IW515301) models.
It also comes equipped with an oversized steel screw-in crown designed in the iconic IWC big diamond shape with a riveted circumference, providing a firm grip for quick-sets. 
All topped by a sapphire crystal that assists with water-resistance on this watch reaching up to 60 meters (196 feet). The glass has also been secured against displacement by drops in air pressure.
Time is exhibited on a blue sunburst dial with applied Arabic numerals, except for the 6 and 12 o’clock positions. These numerals are accompanied by a white ring of small seconds and slightly larger minute index markers, on the inner flange of the dial. In between these patches of index markers are numerals for every 5-minute increment.
It features two sub-dials in a vertical layout with a small hacking seconds at 6 o’clock and a sub-seconds at 12 o’clock. There is also a white cut-out date window at the 3 o’clock position.
The rhodium plated sword-style central hands and Arabic numerals have all been fitted with a luminescent coating, for an enhanced legibility.

This IWC Big Pilot’s Watch Monopusher Edition “Le Petit Prince” (Ref#: IW515202) is powered by the hand-wound in-house mechanical movement, caliber 59365 with 36 jewels, 281 components and 28,800 Vph. Power reserve on this watch can last up to 192 hours (8 days), when fully wound.
