IWC Big Pilot’s Watch Monopusher Edition “Antoine de Saint Exupéry”
Last year we saw IWC Schaffhausen for the first time ever add a chronograph complication to their Big Pilot’s Watch series, along with the aesthetics of a “Le Petit Prince”' blue dial, in a limited edition. Now the Flieger-style pilot’s watch returns with a different alloy, in an even more exclusive release, while celebrating the author of “Le Petite Prince”, Antoine de Saint Exupéry.The 46mm case is made of 18k rose gold with brushed and polished accents, while the slim polished bezel maintains the original flieger design associated with this pilot watch.
On the flip-side is a transparent sapphire exhibition case back, which allows a view into the inner workings of the mechanical movement.
Each unique limited edition number has been engraved along the rose gold rim portion, while the center view reveals several jewels, golden gears and a useful power reserve indicator.
It also comes equipped with an oversized gold screw-in crown designed in the iconic IWC big diamond shape with a riveted circumference, providing a firm grip for quick-sets. 
All topped by a sapphire crystal that assists with water-resistance on this watch reaching up to 60 meters (196 feet). The glass has also been secured against displacement by drops in air pressure.
Time is exhibited on a brown sunray brushed dial with applied Arabic numerals, except for the 6 and 12 o’clock positions. These numerals are accompanied by a white ring of small second and slightly larger minute indie marks, on the inner flange of the dial. In between these patches of index markers are numerals for every 5-minute increment.
It features two snailed sub-dials in a vertical layout with a small hacking seconds at 6 o’clock and a sub-seconds at the 12 o’clock position. There is also a white cut-out date window at the 3 o’clock position.
The rose gold plated sword-style central hands and Arabic numerals have all been fitted with a luminescent coating, for an enhanced legibility.

This IWC Big Pilot’s Watch Monopusher Edition “Antoine de Saint Exupéry” (Ref#: IW515204) is powered by the hand-wound in-house mechanical movement, caliber 59365 with 36 jewels, 281 components and 28,800 Vph. Power reserve on this watch can last up to 192 hours (8 days), when fully wound.
Mounted to the watch is a brown calfskin leather strap with rivets and exposed white stitching, while secured to the wrist by a steel folding clasp. This is a limited edition of only 100 manufactured pieces. For more information visit the official IWC Schaffhausen website here.
