IWC Big Pilot’s Watch 43 Tourbillon Le Petit Prince
IWC has released an impressive version of its Big Pilot’s Watch, paying tribute to the charming prince from Antoine de Saint-Exupéry’s story, Le Petit Prince. This special edition watch features a tourbillon and showcases the iconic blue dial characteristic of the Petit Prince sub-collection. It comes in the smaller 43mm version introduced in 2021 aiming at further widening this model's appeal. From 2013 onward, IWC has fostered a unique partnership with Saint-Exupéry’s heirs, resulting in a series of Pilot watches dedicated to the little prince. Now in celebration of the tenth anniversary of their collaboration, IWC has unveiled this limited edition of 300 pieces, as yet another timely homage. The 43mm case with 14.58mm thickness is made of the 18k Armor Gold (an exclusive proprietary alloy known for its enhanced durability compared to traditional 5N gold.) with brushed surfaces and polished accents, while the slim polished bezel maintains the original flieger design since its inception.
On the flip-side is a transparent sapphire exhibition case back, which allows a view into the inner workings of the mechanical movement. Each unique limited edition number has been engraved along the gold rim portion, 
while the center view is partially obfuscated by an 18k gold crafted rotor that portrays the image of the “Le Petit Prince” on top of his asteroid.
It also comes equipped with an oversized gold screw-in crown designed in the iconic IWC big diamond shape with a riveted circumference, providing a firm grip for quick-sets. 
All topped by a convex sapphire crystal with an anti-reflective coating. The glass has also been secured against displacement by drops in air pressure. Water-resistance can reach up to 100 meters (330 feet). 
Time is exhibited on a blue sunray brushed dial with gold-plated indices and Arabic numerals (except for the 6 and 12 o’clock positions). These numerals are accompanied by a white ring of small second and slightly larger minute index marks, on the inner flange of the dial, while between these patches of indices are numerals for every 5-minute increment.
Most of the lower-half at the 6 o’clock position proudly showcases a one-minute flying tourbillon equipped with a stop mechanism, ensuring precise adjustments. It operates on the identical movement found in the Markus Bühler, the caliber 82905, belonging to the esteemed 82000 family, and is energized by a bi-directional Pellaton system fortified with robust ceramic elements.
The gold plated propeller-style central hands and Arabic numerals have all been fitted with a luminescent coating, for an enhanced legibility.

This “IWC Big Pilot’s Watch 43 Tourbillon Le Petit Prince” (Ref#: IW329502) is powered by the automatic self-winding in-house mechanical movement, caliber 82905 with 25 jewels, 197 components and 28,800 Vph. Power reserve can last up to 80 hours, when fully wound.
