Glashütte Original gives its larger SeaQ Panorama Date a colorful new identity with the “Northern Tide” Limited Edition, an exclusive release for the North American market. The new model brings a turquoise dégradé dial to the manufacture’s more substantial dive watch, combining the SeaQ collection’s utilitarian roots with one of Glashütte Original’s most recognizable complications: the Panorama Date.
The Glashütte Original SeaQ Panorama Date “Northern Tide” features a stainless-steel case measuring 43.2mm in diameter, 15.65mm thick and 51.5mm from lug to lug. Its larger proportions give the watch a commanding presence, complemented by a unidirectional rotating bezel fitted with a scratch-resistant black ceramic insert that provides a dark frame around the vibrant dial.
A sapphire crystal caseback reveals the in-house caliber 36-13 and the traditional Glashütte decorative techniques applied to the movement. Each caliber is assembled, decorated and regulated by hand, allowing the transparent back to showcase the mechanical finishing that distinguishes the SeaQ Panorama Date from a purely utilitarian dive watch.
The screw-down crown contributes to the model’s substantial diving capability, while a sapphire crystal with anti-reflective treatment on both sides protects the dial. Like the smaller SeaQ, the Panorama Date is certified according to DIN 8306 and ISO 6425 dive-watch standards. Water-resistance can reach up to 300 meters (984 feet).
A matte turquoise lacquer dial distinguishes the “Northern Tide” from existing SeaQ Panorama Date references, transitioning gradually toward black around its perimeter through a dégradé effect. The vivid center and darkened outer section echo the changing tones of open water while visually connecting the dial to the black ceramic diving bezel.
Applied rhodium-plated Arabic numerals and indices are paired with matching hour and minute hands, maintaining the highly legible display characteristic of the SeaQ family. Glashütte Original’s signature Panorama Date appears at 4 o’clock, using two large white numerals against a black background for a more integrated appearance than the contrasting date window of the smaller SeaQ.
The graduated dial treatment adds visual depth beneath the applied furniture, with its darker perimeter increasing contrast around the indications. Super-LumiNova fills the numerals, indices, hour and minute hands, supplemented by small luminous hour markers to maintain strong visibility in darkness and underwater.
Glashütte Original SeaQ Panorama Date Northern Tide
The “Glashütte Original SeaQ Panorama Date Northern Tide” (Ref#: 1-36-13-08-80-70) is powered by the in-house self-winding mechanical movement, caliber 36-13, operating at 28,800 vph. It comes equipped with hours, minutes and seconds indications, along with Glashütte Original’s signature Panorama Date display at 4 o’clock. Power reserve can last up to 100 hours, when fully wound.
Mounted on this watch is a stainless-steel bracelet, secured by a folding clasp with a fine-adjustment system, while an additional black synthetic strap with a folding clasp is included for a sportier configuration. The steel bracelet emphasizes the substantial character of the 43.2mm case, whereas the black synthetic strap connects visually with the ceramic bezel and dark perimeter of the dial.
The Glashütte Original SeaQ Panorama Date “Northern Tide” is limited to 100 pieces and will be available exclusively through Glashütte Original boutiques and authorized retailers in the United States, Canada and Mexico.
