Glashütte Original Sixties iN Glacier Blue
Once again Glashütte is back with another addition to their exciting “Sixties” Vintage collection. These watches have been characterized by very unique and eye-fetching dial tones. After the vivacious textures of the lava-hued and green models, now we get to enjoy a pair of “Glaciar Blue” timepieces.
The simpler automatic model comes in a 39mm case, while the chronograph has a 42mm case, both made of polished stainless-steel. While on the flip-side they both have a sapphire exhibition case back, which allows to view the inner workings of the mechanical movement.
Both come equipped with a setting-crown and stubby, long protruding lugs that are slightly curved for a comfortable wrist fit.
While the chronograph model also includes two push-pieces to operate the counter functions.
Both are topped with a domed sapphire crystal and water-resistance can reach up to 30 meters (98 feet).
Time is exhibited on a domed glacier blue lacquered dial with a dégradé effect. The simpler automatic version has steel hour index markers and the Arabic numerals: 3, 6, 9, and 12. Plus a ring of minute index markers circling around the periphery of the dial, with white dots for every 5-minute increment.
While the chronograph version only has the 6 and 12 Arabic numerals, plus two sub-dials: a sub-seconds at the 3 o’clock position and a 30-minute counter at the 9 o’clock spot. The central steel hands and index markers have all been fitted with a luminescent filling, for an enhanced legibility.
