Glashütte Original adds vibrant energy to its retro-modern Seventies Chronograph Panorama Date with the release of two new limited editions: “Plasma,” in a rich matte purple, and “Fusion,” in a striking yellow-green. Both models feature lacquered dials crafted in the brand’s own newly opened dial manufactory and are housed in a 40mm square-cushion case with integrated chronograph pushers and a Panorama Date at 6 o’clock. Each colorway is limited to just 100 pieces, merging bold aesthetics with refined German watchmaking.
These new summer releases are housed in a 40mm by 14.1mm stainless steel case that blends retro-inspired proportions with refined contemporary finishing. The square-cushion profile features softly rounded corners and sharply defined lines, with alternating satin-brushed and polished surfaces that highlight the case’s sculptural geometry. A flat sapphire crystal sits flush over the dial, preserving the case’s low, compact silhouette and giving it a bold, cohesive presence on the wrist.
On the flipside is a sapphire crystal caseback, offering a clear view of the in-house caliber 37-02. The movement is richly decorated with traditional Glashütte finishes, including a striped three-quarter plate, polished steel parts, and heat-blued screws. The skeletonised rotor, engraved with the brand’s double-G emblem, is fitted with a 21-carat gold oscillating weight, adding a subtle touch of opulence to this performance-focused chronograph.
It comes equipped with a screw-down crown protected by integrated crown guards and flanked by two rectangular pushers: one for chronograph start/stop at 2 o’clock and the other for activating the flyback function at 4 o’clock. A flat sapphire crystal with anti-reflective treatment protects the dial. Water-resistance can reach up to 100 meters (330 feet).
Time is displayed on either a deep purple (“Plasma”) or bright yellow-green (“Fusion”) lacquered dial, both produced in-house at Glashütte Original’s recently inaugurated dial manufactory. The colors are rendered with a velvety matte texture that tempers their intensity, striking a refined balance between boldness and elegance. Framing the display are softly rounded square edges that echo the case shape, giving the dial a cohesive, integrated appearance.
At 3 and 9 o’clock, twin subdials house the 30-minute counter and small seconds, each featuring a galvanic black finish with a concentric vinyl pattern for added visual depth.
Glashütte Original’s signature Panorama Date is positioned at 6 o’clock, printed in white on black to match the chronograph registers. Central hour and minute hands sweep cleanly over the open dial, accompanied by a slim central chronograph seconds hand.
The hour and minute hands, along with applied baton-style indices, are filled with Super-LumiNova for low-light visibility. This practical detail ensures the vibrant dial remains legible even in dim environments, reinforcing the blend of style and function that defines these limited edition chronographs.
Glashütte Original Seventies Chronograph Panorama Date
The “Glashütte Original Seventies Chronograph Panorama Date” (References below) is powered by the in-house self-winding mechanical movement, caliber 37-02 with 65 jewels and 28,800 vph. This flyback chronograph movement allows for the seamless resetting and restarting of the chronograph with a single press of the pusher. Power reserve can last up to 70 hours, when fully wound.

Mounted on this watch is either a finely finished stainless-steel bracelet with polished center links and a micro-adjustable folding clasp, or a matte black rubber strap that adds a more casual and contemporary edge.
The integrated lugs flow seamlessly into both strap options, maintaining the clean geometry of the case. Whether worn on steel or rubber, the watch offers a well-balanced and ergonomic fit, with the cushion-shaped case hugging the wrist comfortably for both everyday use and more dynamic settings.
Each model is limited to just 100 pieces worldwide, marking a bold and collectible expression of Glashütte Original’s in-house craftsmanship. For more up to date information visit the official Glashütte website here.
