Glashütte Original PanoMaticLunar Forest Green
Horology isn’t all about Switzerland and Glashütte continues to hold its own by releasing exceptionally well built timepieces. In recent years the Saxon brand has successfully merged its quality mechanics with unique color-schemes, which have managed to positively stand-out amongst the competition. Case and point is the “Glashütte Original PanoMaticLunar” with the new “forest green” dial.
This 40mm case is available in stainless steel with a brushed and polished finish, for a contrasting effect. While on the flip-side is a sapphire exhibition case back, which allows to view the inner workings of the mechanical movement.
It has been decorated with polished/blued screws, a skeletonized rotor with 21k gold oscillating weight, a 3/4 plate with Glashütte stripe finish, with a hand engraved duplex swan-neck fine adjustment.
All topped by a sapphire crystal with an anti-reflective coating on both sides. Water-resistance on this watch can reach up to 50 meters (164 feet).
Time is exhibited on a varnished green dial with a black gradient effect. Plus a galvanic coating process that enhances and attributes more depth to enrich the colors vibrancy. This “forest green” hue is the main novelty, extending the color options for this fine Germanic timepiece "PanoMaticLunar" collection.
The “Glashütte Original PanoMaticLunar” has kept its asymmetrical positioning of the watches complications. But, maintains a reasonable logic, which becomes familiar and reveals an easy legibility, after the initial encounter. The whole index marked 12 hour display is off center to the left, while the moonphase is in the upper right side.
There is also a 60 minute sub-seconds, that cuts into the index markers at the 6 o’clock position, while the rest of it remains partially outside of the time dial. Plus a date aperture on the lower right side.
