Crafted to commemorate the annual WinteRace Cortina, a classic car rally through the snow-covered Alpine roads of Northern Italy, the new Girard-Perregaux Laureato Skeleton WinteRace Edition blends high watchmaking with vintage motorsport flair.
This special ceramic-clad timepiece showcases the brand’s mechanical expertise with a skeletonised movement, while its sleek and durable profile reflects the precision and endurance required in regularity racing. Elegantly bridging automotive heritage with contemporary design, it’s a celebration of both speed and sophistication on the wrist.
The 42mm case is made entirely from black ceramic, offering a sleek and stealthy profile with a weight of under 110 grams. The case is meticulously finished with a combination of circular and straight brushing, lending a dynamic texture that shifts subtly with the light. Its iconic octagonal bezel, integrated lugs, and tonneau case architecture remain unmistakably Laureato, while the dark tone enhances the sense of technical precision.
On the reverse, a sapphire crystal exhibition caseback is screwed down rather than simply pressed, ensuring greater durability and integrity. It provides a full view of the beautifully skeletonised GP01800-0006 calibre within, revealing the pink gold rotor and richly finished architecture, including angled and hand-finished bridges in black PVD.
Completing the case architecture is a screw-down crown engraved with the GP emblem, designed for ease of use and resistance to moisture ingress. All topped by a domed sapphire crystal with anti-reflective treatment on both sides. The crystal sits flush with the surrounding bezel for a sleek profile. Between the precisely integrated lugs and the smooth flow of the ceramic bracelet, every contour is refined for comfort and visual balance. Water-resistance can reach up to 100 meters (328 feet).
The skeletonised dial highlights the brand’s technical prowess while retaining legibility. Its open-worked layout offers a dramatic view into the movement below, framed by a brushed black flange that supports cantilevered hour markers and the applied GP logo at 12 o’clock. A subtle seconds display is offset near the minute wheel, eliminating the need for a traditional sub-dial and preserving the watch’s visual balance.
Much of the visual intrigue lies in the architecture of the movement itself, visible from the dial side through the cutaway mainplate. Pink gold-toned accents, including the skeletonised hands and visible gear train, create elegant contrast against the darker background, while refined chamfering and finishing give the composition a high level of depth and polish.
Green luminescent material fills the baton-shaped hour and minute hands, as well as the applied indexes along the flange. These luminous accents provide low-light legibility without disrupting the watch’s intricate display, ensuring the dial remains functional while embracing its technical, high-performance style.

This “Girard-Perregaux Laureato Skeleton WinteRace Edition” (Ref#: 81015-32-3518-32A) are powered by the in-house automatic movement, caliber GP01800-0006, with 25 jewels, 173 parts, and a frequency of 28,800 vph. The movement features an openworked pink gold rotor, a variable-inertia balance, and incorporates four distinct finishes on the PVD-treated bridges: bevelling, sandblasting, traits-tirés, and circular satination. Power reserve can last up to 54 hours, when fully wound. 
Mounted on the watch is a black ceramic bracelet, crafted to match the case with alternating brushed surfaces that highlight the material’s sharp contours and deep tone; while secured to the wrist with a triple-blade folding clasp in black ceramic, maintaining the seamless monochrome aesthetic.
