Girard-Perregaux Laureato Absolute Gold Fever

Girard-Perregaux first introduced their inaugural “Laureato” model, back in 1975. Since then despite the passage of time its highly original design based on juxtaposing circular forms and straight lines with an octagonal bezel has preserved a novel look. Now this new limited “Gold Fever” edition has elevated its elegance by imbuing it with several 18k rose gold elements.  The 44mm case is made of Grade 5 titanium alloy with a PVD treatment that renders it with a black tone. Mounted to the case is this collection's signature octagonal shaped bezel, crafted out of matching PVD coated titanium. On the flip-side we encounter a solid case back, secured by 6 screws and engraved with the “Laureato Absolute” logo.It comes equipped with two rectangular pushers to operate the chronograph functions and setting-crown engraved with the GP logo tucked away between them, while also surrounded by crown guards. As seen on the “Laureato Absolute Passion” these pushers have also been redesigned from previous models to have a more angular design. All topped by a sapphire crystal that assists with water-resistance reaching up to 300 meters (985 feet).Time is exhibited on a black dial with 18k rose gold hour index markers, followed by a ring of white seconds and minute index markings circling around a sloped flange. It features three rose gold sub-dials: a sub-seconds at 3 o’clock, a 12-hour counter at 6 o’clock and a 30-minute counter at the 9 o'clock position. This dial has a layered sandwich-style construction with sunken sub-dials and a sloped minute ring. The 18k rose gold central hands and hour index markers have all been fitted with a luminescent coating, for an enhanced legibility. There is also a date aperture placed between the 4 and 5 o’clock positions.
