Audemars Piguet continues to refine the identity of the Code 11.59 collection with a new interpretation of its selfwinding flying tourbillon model, now presented in warm ivory tones. Since its debut, the Code 11.59 line has steadily evolved into a canvas for technical and aesthetic sophistication, and this latest reference balances contemporary architecture with traditional métiers d’art. Featuring the signature dial motif and a high-end in-house movement, the new model demonstrates AP’s commitment to expressive materials and nuanced contrasts.
The watch is housed in a 41mm case that measures 11.8mm thick, combining black ceramic for the octagonal mid-case with 18k white gold for the round bezel, lugs, and caseback. This hybrid construction, emblematic of the Code 11.59 collection, is sharply finished with alternating polished chamfers and satin-brushed planes. The double-curved sapphire crystal flows seamlessly into the case contours, producing soft reflections that shift across its sculpted geometry.
The caseback is crafted in 18k white gold and fitted with a sapphire exhibition crystal, offering a generous view of the calibre 2950 within. Surrounding the transparent window, engraved notations provide essential details while retaining a clean perimeter. The integrated curvature of both crystals reinforces the architectural profile and invites close inspection of the movement’s layout.
It comes equipped with a ceramic crown, inset with a white gold chip for contrast and tactility. Topping the dial is the domed sapphire crystal with anti-reflective treatment on both sides. Water‑resistance can reach up to 20 meters (65 feet).
The beige, ivory-toned dial features AP’s signature concentric guilloché pattern, first introduced in 2023 and developed in collaboration with artisan Yann von Kaenel. Executed here in a soft PVD ivory finish, the engraved motif radiates outward from the centre, offering rich texture and depth. A matte black inner ring encircles the dial, connecting visually with the ceramic mid-case and framing the layout in bold contrast.
Applied 18k pink gold hour markers and matching openworked hands provide elegant balance, the latter filled with luminescent material to improve legibility. At 6 o’clock, the aperture for the flying tourbillon is outlined in a fine pink gold ring, visually anchoring the lower half of the dial and creating a sense of vertical symmetry.
The layering of the guilloché surface, inner flange, and sub-seconds tourbillon gives the dial a notable sense of spatial depth. The use of lume is subtle, confined to the central hands, while the ivory texture diffuses ambient light to highlight the intricate engraving. Every surface is meticulously finished to uphold the Code 11.59’s haute horlogerie standing.
