Chopard Mille Miglia GTS Power Control
The partnership between Chopard and Mille Miglia has been running strong for over three decades. This prestigious Italian open-road endurance race for classic and vintage cars know as: “Mille Miglia” is undoubtedly the most beautiful car race in the world, (“la corsa piu bella del mondo” as true aficionados call it). Let’s inspect their latest limited edition “GTS Power Control”” release.
The 43mm case is made of stainless-steel and 18k rose gold with a transparent exhibition case back, which allows to view the inner workings of the mechanical movement.
Mounted to the watch is a gold bezel that features a gray aluminum inlay, graduated with a 60-minute/60-seconds scale.
It’s been crafted to mould the curve of the wrist to perfection and assure a comfortable fit. Also comes equipped an 18k rose gold screw-down crown, engraved with a vintage race car steering wheel.
All topped by a sapphire crystal, which all assist to keep water-resistance on this watch able to reach up to 100 meters (330 feet).
Time is exhibited on a ruthenium grey dial obtained by a galvanic treatment, further embellished by a circular satin-brushed finish. It includes white hour index markers and the Arabic numerals: 6 and 12; while on the periphery circling near the bezel is a white ring with white printed minute index markers, followed by slightly bigger markers for each five-minute increment.
It features a date aperture at the 3 o’clock position and a power reserve indicator stretching from the 8 to 10 o’clock positions.
There are also some scattered red accents in the form of: the Mille Miglia logo which is framing the date aperture; the tip of the central second’s hand; and the sub-hand for the power reserve indicator, plus the “E” (for “Empty” portion) of the power reserve indicator.
Chopard Mille Miglia GTS Power Control
The “Chopard Mille Miglia GTS Power Control” (Ref#: 168566-6001) is powered by the in-house self-winding mechanical movement, caliber 01.08-C with 40 jewels, 251 parts and 28,800 Vph. Power reserve on this watch can last up to 60 hours, when fully wound.
Mounted to the watch is a matt brown calfskin perforated leather strap, secured to the wrist by a stainless-steel folding clasp.
