Chopard Mille Miglia GTS Chrono Limited Edition Italy 2023

To celebrate 36 years of Chopard as the official timekeeper of the world’s most famous regularity race for classic cars, they released several new timepieces. But, this year has also included the special "Chopard Mille Miglia GTS Chrono Limited Edition Italy 2023". The layout is already iconic, but the textured dial really brings a unique aspect to this new release. A beige and olive green palette with red highlights.The 44mm case is made of Lucent A223 steel with vertically bruised surfaces and polished bevels. Mounted to the case is a steel bezel with an olive green aluminum insert, which includes a white printed tachymeter scale. On the flipside is a steel screw-on case back embossed with the Mille Miglia logo on a checkered flag pattern; while circling around it is the racing route inscription “BRESCIA > ROMA > BRESCIA” and the limited edition number of each individual timepiece.It also comes equipped with two push-pieces that activate the chronograph functions and feature a car grid top, while in between is a setting-crown, embossed with a racecar steering-wheel. All topped by a sapphire crystal that also assists with water-resistance on this watch reaching up to 100 meters (330 feet).Time is exhibited on a beige lacquered dial with steel applique hour index markers, followed by a sloped olive green minute ring circling the flange. This insert coordinates with the green bezel, while a red circle provides a welcomed contrast. Meanwhile the beige hue has a very textured surface with grainy sand vibes. It features a tri-compax layout with two snailed sub-dials: a 12-hour counter at 6 o’clock, a small seconds at 9 o’clock, and a 30-minute counter at the 12 o’clock position. More specks of red get added to the overall color scheme as small counter hands and the chronograph tip.There is also a day-date at the 3 o’clock position, placed within the iconic red hour logo with the “1000 MIGLIA” inscription. The central hands and hour index markers have all been fitted with a luminescent coating, for an enhanced legibility.

This “Chopard Mille Miglia GTS Chrono Limited Edition Italy 2023” (Ref#: 168571-3015) is powered by a self-winding mechanical movement based on caliber Valjoux 7750 with 25 jewels, 240 parts, and  28,800 vph. It is a COSC-certified chronometer. Power-reserve can last up to 48 hours, when fully wound.Mounted to this watch is a saddle brown calfskin leather perforated strap with black rubber lining, secured to the wrist by a Lucent steel folding clasp. This is a limited edition of only 100 manufactured pieces.
