Chopard Mille Miglia Classic Chronograph “French Edition”
The strong link between Chopard and classic cars is well-established. In addition to the brand's co-CEO's love for vintage automobiles, Chopard has been a proud partner of the iconic Mille Miglia race since 1988. Through this collaboration, Chopard has crafted a special collection of racing chronographs, boasting 35 years of history. At the esteemed Rétromobile, one of Europe's premier classic car shows, Chopard introduces its newest creation, the Mille Miglia Classic Chronograph French Limited Edition.
The round case with a diameter of 40.5mm and 12.88mm height is made of Lucent steel A223 with an overall polished finish. On the flip-side they all come with a sapphire exhibition caseback that allows a view into the inner workings of the mechanical movement. Directly on the sapphire has been imprinted the image of a checkered racing flag and the national flag of France. It comes equipped with two push-pieces that activate the chronograph functions, with a setting-crown in-between them. A race-car steering wheel can be seen crafted on to the setting-crown. All topped by a sapphire crystal that also assists with water-resistance reaching up to 50 meters (164 feet).Time is exhibited on tri-color silver-toned dial with Arabic numerals and features a printed tachymeter scale circling around a blue ring on a sloped flange. This silver hue was obtained by using a process referred to as galvanic treatment. There are three snailed counters with the same silver tone and a blue outlining: a sub-seconds at 3 o’clock; a 12-hour counter at 6 o’clock; and a 30-minute counter at the 9 o’clock position. The central sword-shaped steel hands and hour index markers have all been fitted with a DLC-coated luminescent coating, for an enhanced legibility. There is also a date aperture placed between the 4 and 5 o’clock positions with a white background, which further highlights its presence.Chopard Mille Miglia Classic Chronograph “French Edition”
