Chopard Mille Miglia 2020 Race Edition
Like clockwork Chopard has consistently released commemorative editions for each Mille Miglia since 1988. Its a known passion of their co-president Karl-Friedrich Scheufele, who collects vintage automobiles enthusiastically. So despite all the pandemic turmoil the motors of classic cars will speed ahead, as we greet this years “Chopard Mille Miglia 2020 Race Edition”. The 42mm case on these watches is made of DLC-coated stainless-steel, while the main distinguishing feature between them is an 18k rose gold mounted bezel option. 
Both options have a transparent exhibition case back, which allows to view the inner workings of the mechanical movement. On the steel periphery we find the iconic Mille Miglia road sign arrow and the unique number for each of these limited editions.
It comes equipped with two push-pieces that activate the chronograph functions, with a setting-crown in-between them. A race-car steering wheel can be seen crafted on to the setting-crown. All topped by a sapphire crystal that also assists with water-resistance on this watch reaching up to 50 meters (164 feet).
Time is exhibited on a black dial that has been sand-blasted for a matte and grained finish. It has been colored to match up with the case tone, for a very cohesive look. 
It features white Arabic numerals and a gold-tone printed tachymeter scale can be seen circling around the circumference of the dial. There are three sub-dials: a sub-seconds at 3 o’clock position; a 12-hour counter at 6 o’clock; and a 30-minute counter at the 9 o’clock position. 
The central stainless steel hands and hour index markers have all been fitted with a DLC-coated luminescent coating, for an enhanced legibility. There is also a date aperture placed between the 4 and 5 o’clock positions.
Chopard Mille Miglia 2020 Race Edition
The “Chopard Mille Miglia 2020 Race Edition” (References below) is powered by a self-winding mechanical movement, caliber ETA 2894 with 37 jewels and 28,800 vph. Power reserve on this watch can last up to 42 hours, when fully wound. Mounted to the watches is a black calfskin strap with a rubber lining, secured to the wrist by a DLC-coated steel pin buckle.
