Chopard L.U.C. QF Revolution Edition

Those with the passion to write about something, often also dream of creating. This new vintage inspired “Chopard L.U.C. QF” is a joint venture with the Revolution, a print and online magazine focused on watches, based in Singapore. This is actually the third collaboration between Chopard and Revolution, which has combined a classic 1940’s design with a modern high-end mechanical movement.The 39mm case is made of stainless-steel with a polished finish and quite a slim profile of only 8.9mm. Mounted to the case is a thin steel bezel with the same mirror polished finish.On the flip-side is a sapphire exhibition caseback that allows a view into the inner workings of the mechanical movement. It showcases a 22k gold micro rotor with the “L.U.C.” inscription and received the QF certification, which means the movement is 100% Swiss Made. The unique limited edition number of each of these releases has also been engraved to the steel circumference.It comes equipped with a knurled screw-in crown, embossed with “L.U.C”. The round shiny case features soldered lugs with a sharp and curvy shape. All topped by a sapphire crystal that assists with water-resistance reaching up to 30 meters (196 feet).Time is exhibited on a Deco style sector dial with a circular brushed black background, some hour index markers and the Arabic numerals: 3, 9, and 12. Circling around the periphery is a 60-minute scale with markers and double-digit numerals for every 5-minute increment.On the lower-half is a large sub-seconds counter with a dagger shaped hand. The rhodium-plated syringe-style hands, Arabic numerals, and inner sector track design have all been fitted with a green luminescent coating, for an enhanced legibility.

Chopard L.U.C. QF Revolution Edition

The “Chopard L.U.C. QF Revolution Edition” (Ref#: 168613-3002) is powered by the in-house self-winding mechanical movement, caliber 96.09-L with 29 jewels, and 28,800 vph. It comes equipped with the Chopard-patented system combining two co-axial barrels. Power reserve can last up to 65 hours, when fully wound.Mounted to the watch is a vintage light brown calfskin strap with exposed stitching, secured by a stainless-steel pin buckle.
