Bvlgari Aluminum GMT
The first-generation of the “Bvlgari Aluminium” launched back in 1998, aimed at redefining the luxury sports watch, by using unconventional materials. Now they’ve begun expanding this collection by adding a useful GMT function. As we all travel around for the holidays, let’s consider picking up a “Bvlgari Aluminum GMT” to keep our encounters on time.
The round 40mm case is made of aluminum, which provides a very light weight of only 68.6 grams. Overall aluminium is 75% lighter than steel and 40% lighter than titanium, so it makes this a very comfortable choice, while still offering a sturdy resilience. 
On the flip-side is a solid titanium caseback, which is the same material used for the crown. 
The initial crown position is for winding, while one click-out allows us to set the GMT time and date, and one more click can give way to set the hour and minute hand. 
Mounted to the case is a blue rubber bezel with a double logo engraving. The contrast of the shiny aluminum “door hinge” lugs and case sides, with the darker titanium crown and this colorful blue rubber bezel, attribute this watch with many layers to marvel at. Water-resistance can reach up to 100 meters (330 feet).
Time is exhibited on a blue dial with long white indices and the Arabic numerals at 6 and 12 o’clock. But there are several other colors at play here. The scattered touches in red and white on the blue background almost give off a very patriotic USA vibe, but this color-scheme manages to summon a much more universal appeal.
The fixed red and blue sloping outer 24-hour ring in combination with the red-tipped GMT hand is used to tell time in a separate timezone. This use of color serves to divide the 24-hour ring in two time-zones: the red half covers from 6 AM to 6 PM, while the blue half runs from 6 PM to 6AM. It also can help differentiate between day and night, for the user’s home-time.
The central hands, hour index markers, Arabic numerals, and the GMT hand have all been painted with Super-LumiNova, for an enhanced legibility. There is also a date aperture with a white background and black numerals at 3 o’clock. 
Bvlgari Bvlgari Aluminum GMT
The “Bvlgari Bvlgari Aluminum GMT” (Ref#: 103554) is powered by the self-winding mechanical movement, caliber B192 with 25 jewels and 28,800 vph. It is based on the Sellita SW 330 movement. Power reserve on this watch can last up to 50 hours, when fully wound.
