Bulgari Aluminum X Gran Turismo

Bulgari recently teamed up with the publisher of Gran Turismo, a highly popular video game praised for its lifelike depiction of car racing. The outcome of this collaboration is the Bulgari Aluminium x Gran Turismo Special Edition, crafted from the brand's distinctive rubber-and-aluminum chronograph. In addition to the watches, the collaboration has led to the creation of the Bulgari Aluminium Vision GT concept car, which is a playable vehicle within the game.The round 41mm case is made of aluminum and it's one of the main highlights and distinguishing aspects of this collection. As we’ve previously mentioned aluminum is 75% lighter than steel and 40% lighter than titanium, which in this case (pun intended) sums up a very light weight of only 68.6 grams. These characteristics make it a comfortable wrist option, while still offering a sturdy resilience.On the flip-side is a titanium caseback DLC-coated in black for an increased durability and scratch resistance. It's been engraved with the “BVLGARI”, “VISION”, and “Gran Turismo” logos, as well as the “10 TH ANNIVERSARY” inscription.It comes equipped with two push buttons to operate the chronograph functions and a setting-crown between them. Both these pieces have also been crafted out of titanium with some black DLC-coated components. This blend of metals has been used previously and looked great in a stylish way. However, in these models, it replicates the design of the watch face in a very seamless and balanced manner.Mounted to the case is a black rubber bezel with the iconic double “BVLGARI BVLGARI” logo engraving, evocative of historic Roman coins. The aluminum “door hinge” lugs and case sides, contrast nicely with the black coated pushers and crown. Water-resistance can reach up to 100 meters (330 feet).Time is exhibited on either a brushed anthracite dial with yellow hour markers and numerals, or a varnished yellow dial with black hour markers and numerals. Plus both models feature a tachymeter scale running alongside the flange area.There are three counters with snailed interiors: a sub-seconds at 3 o’clock, a 12-hour counter at 6, and a 30-minute counter at the 9 o’clock position. In common both models have colored these counters black with yellow numerals, markers, and hands.The central sword-shaped hands and hour index markers have all been fitted with Super-LumiNova, for an enhanced legibility. The syringe-style chronograph hand follows the same color scheme with a yellow tip. There is also a date window with a white background and black numerals placed between the 4 and 5 o’clock positions. 

Bulgari Aluminum X Gran Turismo

The “Bulgari Aluminum X Gran Turismo” (References below) is powered by the self-winding mechanical movement, caliber B381 with 28,800 vph. This is a new movement based on the Sellita SW300 with a Dubois-Depraz module on top. Power reserve can last up to 42 hours, when fully wound.Mounted to the watches are black rubber straps with aluminum links, secured by an aluminum pin buckle.
