Bulgari Aluminum Match Point Edition

It actually started in 1998, but it's since the 2020 update makeover that the Bulgari Aluminium collection has gained wider appeal. The use of recycled materials manage to give a classic design a certain contemporary look. A fine balance between casual and sporty, while still fitting in well at any formal occasion. Plus this limited special edition was made with tennis enthusiasts in mind by featuring a green themed dial, left-handed crown, and comfortable velcro strap.
The round 40mm destro (also known as “lefty”) case is made of aluminum, which provides a very light weight of only 68.6 grams. Overall aluminum is 75% lighter than steel and 40% lighter than titanium, so it makes this a very comfortable choice, while still offering a sturdy resilience. On the flip-side is a titanium caseback with a black DLC-coated center engraved with a tennis ball and the inscription “BB 40 AT HMS”, which refers to technical specification about the watch. It also includes a “LIMITED EDITION” inscription, but doesn’t include any unique series number.Mounted to the case is a green rubber bezel with a double “BVLGARI BVLGARI” logo engraving. The contrast of the aluminum “door hinge” lugs and case sides, with the black coated crown, It also comes equipped with a black DLC-coated titanium crown, which has been placed on the left-side of the case, making it a lefty case. Water-resistance can reach up to 100 meters (330 feet).Time is exhibited on a white dial with green hour indexes and the Arabic numerals: 6 and 12, while circling the flange is a ring of printed minute track. They’ve also added subtle light green highlights above the hour indices, that match the hue seen on tips of the central hands.This is an overall very clean dial, but the tennis motif is clearly there without being a gimmicky watch. The white and dark green color scheme evokes the classic tennis field. While the slight touch of lime on the central seconds hand tip and lollipop counter-weight represent a standard tennis ball.The central sword-shaped hands and hour index markers have all been fitted with Super-LumiNova, for an enhanced legibility. There is also a date window with a white background and black numerals placed at the 3 o’clock position.

The “Bulgari Aluminum Match Point Edition” (Ref#: 103854) is powered by the self-winding mechanical movement, caliber B77 with 25 jewels and 28,800 vph. It is based on the iconic ETA 2892 base movement. Power reserve can last up to 42 hours, when fully wound.Mounted to the watch is a green rubber strap with aluminum links, secured by a Velcro strap.This is a special limited edition of only 800 manufactured pieces and comes in a special aluminum and rubber presentation box shaped to resemble a tennis ball.
