Breitling expands its vintage-inspired dive chronograph lineup with the Superocean Heritage B01 Chronograph 42 in a striking reverse-panda configuration. Drawing inspiration from the historic Breitling SuperOcean Ref. 807, the new model blends the retro charm of the original design with the modern performance of Breitling’s in-house chronograph technology. Featuring a black dial with contrasting silver sub-dials, a stainless-steel case, and the brand’s respected B01 manufacture movement, the Breitling Superocean Heritage B01 Chronograph 42 revives one of the most iconic visual layouts in vintage chronograph design while remaining firmly rooted in the contemporary Superocean Heritage collection.
The Superocean Heritage B01 Chronograph 42 is presented in a stainless-steel case measuring 42mm in diameter, 14.55mm thick, and 49.56mm lug-to-lug. The design retains the clean, vintage-inspired profile associated with the Superocean Heritage family, combining polished surfaces with smooth flowing lines. A black ceramic bezel insert adds durability while providing a clear dive scale marked at five-minute intervals.
On the reverse, a screw-in caseback fitted with a sapphire crystal reveals the Breitling manufacture chronograph movement inside. The display caseback allows a view of the movement’s industrial finishing and mechanical architecture, reinforcing the watch’s position as both a professional dive instrument and a modern mechanical chronograph.
At 3 o’clock sits the screw-down crown, flanked by pump-style chronograph pushers that echo the aesthetic of the original 1957 reference. A cambered sapphire crystal with anti-reflective coating protects the dial while enhancing clarity. Water-resistance can reach up to 200 meters (660 feet).
The dial adopts the classic reverse-panda configuration that made the original SuperOcean ref. 807 so distinctive. A deep black base contrasts sharply with two silver chronograph sub-dials, creating a visually striking layout that enhances legibility while reinforcing the watch’s vintage inspiration.
Applied luminous hour markers and a prominent triangular marker at 12 o’clock anchor the display. The handset consists of a large arrow-shaped hour hand, a sword-style minute hand, and a lollipop chronograph seconds hand, all designed to maximize readability in both diving and everyday conditions.
Depth and visual balance are enhanced by the recessed chronograph registers and the subtle minute track around the dial’s outer edge. The hands and markers are treated with luminescent material, ensuring clear visibility in low-light environments and underwater situations.

It comes equipped with a column wheel chronograph and vertical clutch. Power reserve can last up to 70 hours, when fully wound.
Mounted on this watch is either a stainless-steel mesh bracelet secured by a push-button butterfly clasp or a textured black rubber strap with a stainless steel folding clasp.
