Breitling Navitimer B01 “S&S 10th Anniversary”

To celebrate the tenth anniversary of S&S Group, a renowned luxury retailer in Vietnam representing prestigious luxury brands, Breitling is introducing a deluxe version of its flagship chronograph. This special edition, called the Navitimer B01 "S&S 10th Anniversary" Limited Edition, will be launched coinciding with the opening of the Breitling boutique in Hanoi, the capital of Vietnam.Considering Breitling's strong focus on Southeast Asia, it is not surprising that they have unveiled another edition of their iconic chronograph, following last year's Singapore Airlines edition. However, this time, instead of a simple color change, Breitling has opted for a unique choice by incorporating mother-of-pearl for the dial. This unconventional material adds a touch of extravagance to an otherwise functional pilot's watch, showcasing the brand's commitment to luxury and style in the region.The 41 mm case is made of 18k red gold with a mix of polished surfaces and brushed casebands. It has a rather slim profile measuring in at a height of 13.6mm. Mounted to the case is a ratcheted bi-directional bezel with the signature aviation slide rule. On the flipside is a sapphire exhibition caseback that allows a view into the inner workings of the mechanical movement. The gold periphery includes the inscription “ONE OF 20”, while the interior reveals a golden oscillating weight decorated with openworked sections and the Breitling branding.It comes equipped with a knurled non screw-locked setting-crown with two gaskets, and embossed with the Breitling “B” logo. All topped by a cambered sapphire crystal glareproofed on both sides. Water-resistance can reach up to 30 meters (96 feet).Time is exhibited on a blue mother-of-pearl dial with gold applied hour index markers, followed by a ring track of nautical stats in MPH or in red if you prefer to rely on KM. While circling around the flange on the inner bezel is the famous slide ruler in white with black numerals and red highlights.There are three contrasting white sub-dials with snailed interiors: a 30-minute counter at the 3 o’clock position, a 12-hour counter at the 6 o’clock with a date aperture in its midst, a and a small seconds at the 9 o’clock position. Breitling has stated that this dial was inspired by the tagline “the sky’s the limit”.The gold toned hands and applied hour indices have all been fitted with a luminescent filling, for an enhanced legibility. This color scheme also manages to effectively incorporate a red chronograph hand, which intuitively implies its practical use with the red numerals.

The Breitling Navitimer B01 “S&S 10th Anniversary” (Ref#: RB01392A1C1P1) is powered by the in-house self-winding mechanical movement, caliber B01 with 47 jewels and 28,800 vph. It features a column wheel chronograph movement with vertical clutch. Power reserve can last up to 70 hours, when fully wound.Mounted on the watch is black alligator scaled leather strap with contrasting white stitching, secured to the wrist by an 18k gold deployant buckle. This is a limited edition of only 20 manufactured pieces, which will be available exclusively at the new Breitling boutique, in Hanoi, Vietnam.
