The Breguet Type XX Chronographe 2075 introduces a refined, compact format to the brand’s pilot chronograph series, unveiled in celebration of Breguet’s 250th anniversary. Drawing direct inspiration from a 1955 civilian Type XX model, this new release blends historical fidelity with modern technical advancements. Breguet offers two iterations: one with a deep black aluminium dial and another, limited to 250 pieces, featuring a vertically brushed solid silver dial. Both versions feature a case crafted from proprietary Breguet gold, paired with a new hand-wound movement and period-correct design cues that reinforce its commemorative nature.
These new releases feature a compact 38.3mm case crafted entirely from the brand’s proprietary Breguet gold alloy, combining gold with silver, copper, and palladium to produce a warm blond tone. With a thickness of 13.2mm, the case echoes the proportions of the original 1955 Type XX model.
A slim, bi-directional rotating bezel encircles the case, engraved with black numerals on the black-dial version and blue numerals on the silver-dial variant.Turning the watch over reveals a transparent sapphire caseback showcasing an engraving entirely crafted by hand. Depicted in relief is the historic Breguet 19 aircraft in mid-flight, accompanied by a map of the transatlantic route flown in 1930. The frosted finishing on the continents contrasts with the smooth, polished Atlantic Ocean, adding texture and storytelling to the case’s reverse.A signed crown featuring the signature Breguet “B” sits at 3 o’clock, flanked by chronograph pushers positioned at 2 and 4 o’clock. A cambered sapphire crystal safeguards the front of the watch, offering distortion-free legibility and enhancing durability. Water-resistance can reach up to 50 meters (164 feet).
The Type XX Chronographe 2075 is offered in two dial variants, each with distinct material and visual identity. The black-dial model features a matte aluminium surface, deep anodised to achieve a rich tone while providing enhanced durability and aerospace-grade corrosion resistance. A discreet “Al” marking between 7 and 8 o’clock nods to the material, paying homage to Louis Breguet’s pioneering use of aluminium in aviation.
The silver-dial version opts for refinement, crafted from vertically brushed solid silver with a subtle “Ag925” hallmark in the same position.Both dials showcase applied Arabic numerals and markers in Breguet gold, complementing the finely applied Breguet signature in matching material. The layout features a small seconds counter at 9 o’clock and either a 15-minute chronograph register (for the black dial) or a 30-minute counter (for the silver dial) at 3 o’clock. A printed tachymeter scale along the perimeter adds functional utility and enhances the pilot chronograph aesthetic.The hands are sculpted in Breguet gold and filled with luminescent material to aid low-light legibility. The overall dial composition remains faithful to the 1955 original, while the use of modern materials and subtle contemporary finishing techniques bring a refined sense of depth and character to the display.

The Breguet Type XX Chronographe 2075 (References below) is powered by either the in-house hand-wound calibre 7279 (black dial) or 7278 (silver dial), both high-frequency column-wheel chronographs measuring 32.2mm in diameter and 6mm in thickness. These movements feature 28 jewels, a 5Hz frequency (36,000 vibrations per hour), a silicon hairspring, and no date display. Functions include hours, minutes, small seconds, a flyback chronograph with central seconds, and either a 15-minute (7279) or 30-minute (7278) counter at 3 o’clock. Both calibres are decorated with Breguet gold-plated bridges and plates, with the main bridge hand-engraved to depict the Breguet 19 aircraft in tribute to the 1930 Paris–New York transatlantic flight. Power reserve can last up to 60 hours, when fully wound.
Mounted on these watches are gradient-toned calfskin leather straps—black for the black-dial model and blue for the silver-dial version—secured by a pin buckle. The straps are fitted with an easy-change system for quick interchangeability and pair elegantly with the warm hues of the Breguet gold case. Each watch is delivered in a special-edition red leather presentation box inspired by historical Moroccan leather cases used by Breguet in the mid-20th century.
