Breguet Tradition Seconde Rétrograde 7035

Breguet Tradition Seconde Rétrograde 7035

Released in celebration of Breguet’s 250th anniversary, the new Tradition Seconde Rétrograde 7035 pairs the collection’s signature exposed mechanics with refined artisanal detailing and commemorative materials. The watch introduces a guilloché dial in translucent blue Grand Feu enamel and debuts Breguet gold, a proprietary alloy created especially for this milestone. Limited to 250 pieces, it blends historical inspiration with contemporary craftsmanship, reaffirming the Tradition line as a showcase for the maison’s most distinctive horological identity.
This new Breguet is housed in a 38mm case made from the brand’s newly developed proprietary alloy, 18k Breguet gold which is a warm-toned blend of gold, silver, copper, and palladium. Measuring 12.6mm in height, the case retains the familiar Breguet fluting along its caseband, with alternating polished and satin-finished surfaces adding depth and light play
On the reverse, a sapphire exhibition caseback reveals the intricately finished movement, including satin-brushed bridges and a shot-blasted mainplate. Most striking is the platinum oscillating weight, vertically brushed and shaped like a crescent moon, a historical nod to Breguet’s early “perpétuelle” self-winding systems. The underside view enhances the horological transparency that defines the Tradition line, offering visual access to the mechanical artistry within.
It comes equipped with a non-screw-down crown for time-setting, nestled between compact lugs, which are seamlessly soldered into the case. A domed sapphire crystal with double anti-reflective treatment ensures optimal legibility while complementing the overall curvature of the case profile. Water-resistance can reach up to 30 meters (100 feet), suitable for light exposure but in keeping with the model’s refined, heritage-driven character.
Time is displayed on a finely engine-turned off-center dial in translucent Breguet blue Grand Feu enamel, positioned between 7 and 11 o’clock. Executed using the new “Quai de l’Horloge” guilloché motif, the dial showcases a concentric pattern inspired by the winding curves of the Seine as depicted in an 18th-century map of Paris. Silver-toned Breguet numerals and a dotted minute track punctuated by fleur-de-lis accents surround the chapter ring, offering classical elegance with crisp legibility.
Balancing the exposed movement architecture, a retrograde seconds hand sweeps across a wide arc in the upper right portion of the dial. This hand also rendered in Breguet blue adds animation and technical depth to the visual composition, while echoing the aesthetic codes of historical regulators. A unique serial number is discreetly placed near 4 o’clock, reinforcing the model’s exclusivity.
Completing the display are monobloc luminescent hour and minute hands in polished Breguet gold, accompanied by polished blued screws and silver-toned gears positioned on the dial side. The overall color palette, a juxtaposition of warm gold tones, vivid blue, and contrasting metallic elements, underscores the celebratory nature of this anniversary edition while remaining faithful to the watchmaker’s visual DNA.

Breguet Tradition Seconde Rétrograde 7035

The “Breguet Tradition Seconde Rétrograde 7035” (Ref#: 7035BH/H2/9V6) is powered by the in-house self-winding mechanical movement, caliber 505SR with 38 jewels and a frequency of 21,600 vph. It features an inverted in-line lever escapement with silicon horns and a flat silicon balance spring for enhanced durability and resistance to magnetism. The platinum oscillating weight is shaped like a crescent and positioned centrally above the bridges, offering smooth bidirectional winding. Power reserve can last up to 50 hours, when fully wound.
Mounted on this watch is a navy blue alligator leather strap with tone-on-tone stitching, secured to the wrist by an 18k Breguet gold pin buckle. The deep blue hue complements the enamel dial and retrograde hand, reinforcing the timepiece’s rich color harmony. Presented in a special red leather case inspired by Breguet’s early Moroccan leather boxes, the overall packaging underscores the commemorative nature of this limited anniversary edition of only 250 pieces.
