Breguet Tradition Rétrograde 7597 iN Blue

Many luxury watches like to boast about innovation and complications, even when they’re based on reprising back catalog models. But, when we’re dealing with Breguet their main appeal comes from preserving classical origins and vintage aesthetics. This recent “Breguet Tradition Rétrograde 7597” release can trace its inspiration back to the 18th century. It isn’t a new model, except for the blue dial which now extends potential users options. The 40mm case is made of finely crafted 18k white gold, while the circumference of the case is adorned by Breguet’s signature fluted case band. It also features a sandblasted mainplate and the bridges are rhodium-plated to create a subtle contrast with the slightly lighter white gold case.On the flip-side a transparent sapphire exhibition case back allows to further delight our gaze upon the inner movement and its workings. The welded lugs are secured by screw bars and tilted to comfortably accommodate a secure wrist fit. It comes equipped with a setting-crown and a screw-in corrector placed at 10 o’clock that can be used to quickly set the date. Water-resistance can reach up to 30 meters (98 feet).Time is exhibited on a smaller off-set blue dial near the 12 o’clock position, exquisitely adorned with hand-crafted engine-turned Clou de Paris hobnailing. While the majority of this round canvas presents us with a view to the open-worked engine, which is the beating caliber cased inside. Its exposed barrel slightly covered by the offset dial has a notable brushed finish. Pointing out the current time are Breguet open-tipped hands also made of 18k white gold.It also includes a retrograde date section placed between the 3 and 9 o’clock with a multi-tiered blued steel hand, which serves to indicate the date flying over the movement components. The silver Arabic numerals are separated by gold cabochons.
